The Middletown High School Sports Club News The Middletown High School Sports Club would like to congratulate the Class of 2019! The senior class is filled with so much talent and everyone has a bright future ahead of them. Sports teach people real world situations - how to over come obstacles, the satisfaction of hard work, how to be a teammate, and how to win and lose with grace and dignity. We hope when you look back at your high school sporting career, you look back with pride and smile. Once a KNIGHT, always a KNIGHT! We would also like to congratulate Saylor Poffenbarger on making the USA U16 Olympic Women’s Basketball team! Saylor was awarded this honor in Colorado Springs after multiple days of practices and evaluations. She was one of 33 players whom received invitations to the 16-and-under tryouts, but a host of others were also allowed to submit applications, bringing the total number of girls vying for a spot to 152. Poffenbarger leaves June 5 to go back to the United States Olympic Training Center, in Colorado, to train with her new 11 teammates. On June 13, Team USA will travel to Puerto Aysen, Chile for the 2019 FIBA Americas U16 Championship, which takes place June 16-22.
