Students Reporting Security Concerns “See Something, Say Something” And Don’t Repost It Report it – Encourage students to report security concerns to a trusted adult (parent, school staff member, school administrator, SRO, or a local law enforcement agency). Students may also anonymously report concerns using the Safe Schools Maryland Tip Line at 833-MD-B-SAFE or their website or here. In an emergency, call 911. Additional resources can be found on each school’s website and the FCPS website.

MHS Attendance Process For Early Dismissal To request a student’s early dismissal, please adhere to the following process:

Please include the following information in emails/notes: -Student’s name -Parent/Guardian’s name & phone number -Reason for early dismissal
If at all possible, please send an email or note rather than calling the Front Office to request early dismissal. Emails and notes allow for a more efficient process with fewer classroom interruptions.
For your convenience, as long as proper documentation/communication has already been received, parents/guardians are not required to enter the school building to pick up students for early dismissal.
Algebra 1, Geometry, and MCAP Review Tutoring Schedule Tuesdays and Thursdays Students currently enrolled in Algebra 1, Geometry, or reviewing for the Algebra 1 MCAP can attend in order to receive individualized tutoring. Students are not required to sign up for tutoring ahead of time.
English Tutoring Schedule Mondays and Thursdays Dr. Flagg will have after school English tutoring in Room 517 on Mondays and Thursdays from 2:30-3:30. All students who need help with their English classes for general homework assistance or who want to prepare for the MCAP are invited to attend. Advance sign up by sending a Schoology message to Dr. Flagg or dropping by during KQ (Room 517) is appreciated but not required.
Writing Workshop Tutoring Opportunities Drop in and consult with Ms. Loughry for some extra assistance with any writing assignment. All students are welcome; no appointment necessary! Please report to Room 507 from 2:20 PM - 3:05 PM on the following dates:
Maryland State Skills USA Contest Winners Congratulations to the following MHS CTC students! The were recognized as metal winners at the Maryland State SkillsUSA contests which was held held last week. As a first place winner, Shirsho Banerjee has earned the opportunity to compete in the SkillsUSA National Competition held in Atlanta, GA in June. State officers and delegates will also attend the competition. Great job, students!

MHS Drama Presents: Chicago: Teen Edition
Synopsis: Set in the jazz age of the roaring '20s, Chicago: Teen Edition tells the story of Velma Kelly and Roxie Hart, two women searching for stardom while also being tried for murder. Both women land in the Cook County Jail and plot their comeback to the spotlight and release from prison. Please Note: Some content may not be appropriate for children under the age of 14. Parents should use discretion when bringing their children to the performance.

This show is the last MHS production for a bevy of talented seniors. Our phenomenal LIVE MUSIC pit orchestra features the musical styles of seniors Brooke Betit, Brandon Divita, and Sydney Hector. The Chicago cast features the triple-threat talents of seniors, Ally Beck as Roxy Hart and Kate Hartinger as Velma Kelly. Senior Kai Austin makes his onstage premiere as the dapper and silver-tongued Billy Flynn. Joining Hartinger as the merry murderesses of Cook County Jail are the magnificent McKenna Dunn, beautiful Bailey Hardison, melodious Maurlea Long, and imaginative Isabella Thompson. Emily Smalt brings her signature brand of joy and fun to Mary Sunshine and Megan Homan thrills as a featured Chicago danceran. Yadira Castro-Lopez wows as Hell Cat Kitty and Brooke Renninger moves the story along as a feature MC. Finally the Chicago technical crew is masterfully helmed, in part by senior Logan Kuhn.

Donations Requested: Senior Sunrise We will be looking for donations of gift cards for end of the year prizes during our Senior Sunrise.
