Students Reporting Security Concerns “See Something, Say Something” And Don’t Repost It Report it – Encourage students to report security concerns to a trusted adult (parent, school staff member, school administrator, SRO, or a local law enforcement agency). Students may also anonymously report concerns using the Safe Schools Maryland Tip Line at 833-MD-B-SAFE or their website or here. In an emergency, call 911. Additional resources can be found on each school’s website and the FCPS website.

MHS Writing Center Mondays & Wednesdays, 2:30 PM - 3 PM Reminder: MHS offers an after-school writing center on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30 - 3 PM in Portable 1. Students are encouraged to attend for writing assistance across all content levels. Please drop by and sign up with Dr. Flagg in Portable 1 ahead of time. Note: The Writing Center will be closed on Wednesday Oct 19 for a meeting.
Tip of the week: When studying for tests, do not rely on teacher-created resources to study. Instead, get yourself some index cards and make flash cards. On one side, you will put the term or concept label. On the other, you put the definition. Creating the cards uses a different part of your brain than reading the cards. Take the time to make them yourself, do it with paper-based resources, and you'll find that memory retrieval increases.
