A Message from Dr. Terry Alban
Twin Ridge Elementary staff are pictured being interviewed by WDVM-TV reporter Nordea Lewis.
Last week, Twin Ridge Elementary was named a National Banner Unified Champion school by the Special Olympics.
During a year when making connections was challenging, Twin Ridge continued providing inclusive sports and activities for all students.
This is a significant achievement. Twin Ridge is the only elementary school from Maryland to achieve this status. They are truly leading the way. I am #FCPSProud!
Today is the first day of high school athletic competitions for fall sports. It will be wonderful to hear our high school marching bands performing during halftime at football games once again. I’d like to thank Dina Carole from Key 103 for providing the audio for our pregame message on the FCPS Pre-Contest Safety and Sportsmanship Message everyone will hear starting tonight.
Last but certainly not least, I wanted to provide a thank you ...
FCPS staff went above and beyond to ensure students could safely return following Wednesday’s severe weather. When some buses needed to be rerouted on Wednesday due to heavy rain and flooding, our FCPS staff rose to the occasion and showed their compassionate care of our students.
I am deeply grateful to all of the staff and families who ensured every student returned home safely.
Have a great long weekend!
