Administrative Announcements:
Children whose families haven't submitted a Meal Benefit Application for THIS school year will no longer have meal benefits after the cut-off date of Tuesday, October 17.
Families are encouraged to submit this year's Meal Benefit Application as soon as possible because waiting until October 17 may result in a child's eligibility lapsing for a period of time until the application is processed.
Effective Wednesday, October 18, 2017, any student who does not have a 2017-18 approved FARM application or Direct Certification Letter on file with the FCPS Food and Nutrition Services Office will need to pay full price for meals. Please take note of the following guidelines when attending events at THS:
6th/7th Grade: We are writing letters to American soldiers. They will be sent to an actual person serving overseas. Students are enjoying expressing themselves to these folks and are intrigued that the letters will reach the service people. This is an example of Service Learning for our 6th and 7th grade students.
6th Graders: Sixth grade scientists are studying roles and relationships in the ecosystem, including energy transfer, predation, symbiosis and competition.
7th Graders: Seventh Grade scientists are studying atomic structure, characteristics of atoms, and learning how to predict which atoms will bond with other atoms to create molecules.
8th Graders: Eighth grade scientists are studying Newton's three laws of motion and reviewing potential and kinetic energy
Life Skills classes are participating in Kids Helping Kids Food Drive. Donations can be dropped off in the front office or to Mrs. Ritz’s room. Prizes will be awarded to the student who donates the most items. Please do not send expired or dented cans.
