Attention All Home and Visiting Fans! Our Middletown High School home athletic season will be underway with our first home event, Varsity football on Friday, September 6. Our teams, band and cheerleaders are looking forward to seeing you this fall. Within a short period of time, all of our fall sports will kick off their regular season. Please help us maintain a safe environment by adhering to the following policies.
The following items are prohibited from being brought into the stadium or gymnasium. We do not have a bag check or holding area; please plan to store these items in your vehicle or leave them at home:
Event Guidelines: Per FCPS policy, if you choose to leave the stadium, you must pay to re-enter the event. The use of tobacco, including chewing tobacco, and vaping, is prohibited on FCPS school property. Good Sportsmanship is an expectation. Spectator behavior is expected to be one that is respectful of the student athletes and performance groups, officials, staff, and other spectators. Behavior not in line with these expectations may result in removal from the venue. For their safety, all children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult. No fans should enter the team area or playing surface, nor sit or stand on any handrails. Parking in non-marked spaces such as sidewalks, grassy areas or any other area not designated for vehicle parking is prohibited and may result in the vehicle being towed. Carpooling is recommended as large crowds are expected.
Event Admission: Admission to events is $2 for students and $6 for adults. 2019-2020 MHS issued season passes, MPSSAA passes, and FCPS and WCPS identification badges are the only forms of passes accepted. Badges serve as an entrance ticket for the badge holder only. Fans over the age of 60 and under the age of 7 are given free entry to all FCPS athletic contests. Go Knights!
Parking Permits Procedures Parking Permit applications are available in the front office for purchase. Completed applications and required documents should be returned to the front office. All vehicles parked on school property that do not display a permit will be ticketed beginning on Monday, September 9. Parking spaces are limited. MHS does not guarantee availability. Permits will not be reserved and are are issued based on need and then on a first-come, first-served basis. Please email Stephanie Davis with questions: stephanie.davis@fcps.org In response to student and parent requests, MHS has switched from parking stickers to parking hangtags, which can be easily moved from one family vehicle to another if necessary. Hangtags attach to the rear view mirror. Please note: Per Maryland law, a person may not drive a vehicle on a highway with anything hanging from the rear view mirror. REMOVE THE PARKING PERMIT HANGTAG FROM THE REAR VIEW MIRROR WHEN OPERATING THE VEHICLE. PLACE THE HANGTAG ON THE REAR VIEW MIRROR ONLY WHEN CAR IS PARKED AT MHS. Thank You! Your MHS PTSA would like to thank all of the parents that donated food for the Back to School staff luncheon last week. Principal Quesada and the staff were very appreciative and the food was awesome! Volunteers Needed! We are still looking for parent volunteers and a student representative. We have an opening for Secretary, as well as committee chair positions for the Scholarship and Baccalaureate committees. Please consider supporting us! PTSA Membership Please be on the lookout for PTSA membership forms coming home next week, including the "Write a Check" donation option. Almost all of the standard membership fees collected go to the county and state PTA that charters us. Please consider making an additional donation to support the PTSA events throughout the year. Among other things, we do several staff appreciation events, donate to the school beautification program, offer two college scholarships to graduating seniors, and support student programs throughout the year selected by Principal Quesada. In addition, the PTSA sponsors the Baccalaureate service for our seniors during graduation week. Please visit the PTSA website for more information or email us at ptsamiddletownhs@gmail.com
