MHS Parents and Families,
It was a busy but productive week at MHS. Students in grade 9 through grade 11 finished selecting classes for next school year, senior letters about graduation activities were mailed and loaded onto the MHS website, we finalized and distributed report cards during KnightsQuest on Thursday, and we completed make-up and regularly scheduled athletic competitions. On Friday we ran a modified bell schedule so that we could hold a winter pep rally and basketball game between staff and students. The pep rally turned out to be a great way to end the week. The student participants held themselves to the highest standard of conduct and the student spectators also conducted themselves in the same impressive manner. The basketball game between the students and staff was exciting and hilarious at the same time. The game was intense and both teams did a great job. The students ended up winning 21-17. :) A lot was accomplished this week thanks to our volunteers, families, the staff, and the students. Thanks to everyone for your continued support of Middletown High. As always, if you have questions, concerns, or suggestions, please contact us. Lee Jeffrey, Principal

Hearing and Vision Screening Wednesday, February 13
ATTENTION PARENTS/GUARDIANS & STAFF
Hearing and Vision Screening at MHS will take place for all students the morning of Wednesday, February 13, 2019. If a child is NEW TO MARYLAND PUBLIC SCHOOLS, Maryland State Law mandates this screening. Please make sure if your child wears glasses or contacts that they have them on the screening day.
A letter will be sent home to the parent/guardian of those students who fail the screening test. The letter can then be taken to your child’s doctor for a complete exam. The results from the doctor's exam should then be provided to the health room.
Parents/guardians who have an objection to the screening based on the tenets and/or practice of their church or religion must submit a request for their child to be exempt from screening. All written requests must be submitted to the health room asap. If you have any questions please contact the health room at 240-236-7416.
