Ron Engle Floor Dedication - Friday, December 14: The first Ron Engle Classic was held at Middletown High in December of 1998 in honor of the Knights’ former coach and athletic director. Coach Engle took over at Middletown’s head basketball coach in 1967 and let the Knights to 337 victories and four trips to the state playoffs at the University of Maryland during his 22-year helm. He served as the school’s athletic director for 29 years before retiring from Frederick County Public Schools in 1996. After retirement, Coach Engle coached in the MHS girls’ basketball program and help the Knights win the Maryland Class 2A state championship in 2006. Coach Engle passed away just before basketball season in 2016 and we have brought back the Ron Engle Classic to honor his passion for the game of basketball and what he has done for the community of Middletown. All past players, coaches, fans and community members are invited to attend the dedication which will take place between the JV and Varsity basketball games on December 14.
Attention Parents of Seniors: Tuesday, December 18, is the deadline for purchasing a senior ad in the yearbook. Leave a special word of encouragement or share a memory with your graduating senior. Students love the photos you pick (especially the ones of them as babies) and the notes you leave for them. You don't want your senior to miss out. Parents can go directly to the website at Jostensyearbook.com to place an order. Under the "Yearbooks" tab, go to "Order Your Yearbook Ad" and pick "Order a Student Ad". You can design your ad right there on the site or simply submit the photos and have a Jostens representative do it for you. Because space is limited, all ad purchases will be treated as first-come, first served.
