MHS Expectations Video: A video created by the MHS Administration covering important safety and security information as well as behavioral expectations was shared with students on Wednesday, September 5 during KnightsQuest. Some of the topics that were covered included: FCPS policies and regulations about discrimination, bullying & harassment, drugs & alcohol, the new dress code, and the weapons policy to name a few. In the video, we encouraged students to speak with a trusted adult at the school or have a family member contact the school if they have concerns. FCPS STudent Firearm Possession: The following statement from the office of security was also contained in the video and shared with the students: "It is unlawful for students to possess or use any weapon on school property. Students who have or use a weapon on school property will be suspended from school, and the police shall be notified of the incident. A weapon is any object designed to harm another physically or an object which is used in a way that can physically harm another. Middletown High is committed to providing each of you with a safe environment, and we will do all e can to carry out that responsibility including, if necessary, conducting searches of student lockers."

MHS Drama Dept: If you or your high school student is interested in the Theatre Arts program at MHS we will be hosting a program meeting on Tuesday at 6 PM in the high school auditorium. Students and parents can find out important information about participating in our shows, coming on our NYC trip and volunteering as a supporting parent through our boosters program. All are welcome to attend.
MHS is looking for volunteers to help in the Copy Room! We need volunteers to make copies of instructional material for the teachers as well as manage the distribution of teacher-printed material. Your help in this area matters greatly to the teachers. Helping with this administrative task frees our teachers so they can spend more working with your students. If you can spare a morning or afternoon or just an hour or two, just one day a week, please email Sandy Marks sandra.marks@fcps.org. No experience necessary. Thank you for considering this volunteer opportunity!
Schedule Changes: Students can request a schedule change in the first five days of the school year by submitting a completed “Schedule Change Request Form,” signed by a parent. These forms are green half sheets available on the wall just inside the door of the counseling center. Students should not leave class to ask for a change or a form. Forms should be picked up before or after school, during lunch, or between classes. Once submitted, the form will be processed by the counselor and the outcome shared with the student. After the first week of school, no changes can be made. Schedule changes are not guaranteed because the changes are dependent on the individual student’s overall program and the availability of desired courses.
