An Evening of Jazz
Enjoy an EVENING OF JAZZ at the "Knight" Club on Saturday, May 19 at 7 pm at Middletown High School. Come see the MHS Jazz Ensemble perform along with the MHS Dance Line. The cafeteria is transformed into a nightclub atmosphere and light hors-d'oeuvres are served along with soda, water, and coffee. There is Silent Auction with proceeds to benefit the entire music program at MHS. Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased online or at the door. Don't miss this entertaining annual event!

GRADUATION INFORMATION:
Naviance Update and Senior Survey (Must be completed by May 22nd)
Class Photo: Any senior wishing to order the casual "18 class photo should bring a $12 check payable to Lifetouch to Mrs. Boyll in Portable 2. Pictures will be taken at our first graduation practice.
Lunch Accounts: Seniors must start clearing out their lunch accounts! Seniors having $25.00 or less on an account, can fill out a form in the cafeteria to be refunded the money directly. If an account is over 25.00, a parent will be issued the money. Account balances can be transferred to sibling accounts.
Baccalaureate Information: The Senior Baccalaureate Service will be held on Sunday, May 27th at 7 pm in the MHS auditorium. Seniors are to arrive at 6:30 in their graduations gowns (no cap).
Need an Interpreter for Senior Awards or Graduation?: Interpreting services will not be provided unless requested. Please send your requests to Sandra.Marks@fcps.org no later than Tuesday, May 15.
Special MHS Parking Plan for Tuesday, May 29, 2018
The lower parking lot near the stadium will be reserved for seniors and families only who will be attending the Middletown High School Senior Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 29 at 10:00 a.m. Seniors and senior families are asked to carpool because available parking will be limited. Drivers are asked to adhere to posted signs. Staff parking spots are reserved for staff. All student drivers are asked to ride the bus that day because parking will be limited. Additional, but a limited number, of parking spots are available in the Middletown Park. We thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Spring Testing
1. ADVANCED PLACEMENT TESTING: Subject tests each day starting Monday, May 7 and ending Friday, May 18.
2. PARCC testing rosters with testing room locations and times will be posted on bulletin board across from the Counseling Center in the near future.
3. Previous Nonpassers retake Government HSA: May 7, May 8, or May 9. (Student have received notification of assigned time.)
4. Algebra II PARCC: May 14 and May 15 (Bring Calculator)
5. English 10 PARCC: May 17 and May 18 (Bring Earbuds/Headphones)
6. Algebra I PARCC: May 22 and May 23 (Bring Calculator)
7. First-Time Test takers Government HSA: May 24, 25, and 29 (Government students will complete during regular class time.)
8. Science MISA: May 31 and June 1 (Biology students will complete during regular class time.)
9. AP and PARCC Testing Conflicts: Students scheduled to take an AP exam and a PARCC assessment at the same time should attend the AP test session. These students will be pulled at a later time for PARCC make-ups.

Ruderman Wins Rotary Speech Competition
Congratulations to senior Evan Ruderman for winning first place honors in the 4-Way Test Speech Contest held Saturday, May 5 at the Rotary District 7620 Conference.
Student Volunteer Hours @ Green Fest
Attention students who need SSL hours. For ten years, MHS students have been volunteering their time to run the Kid Zone as well as other areas at the Boonsboro Green Fest. The 10th Anniversary of the festival is Saturday, May 19th from 10 am to 5 pm. Students may log on to www.boonsborogreenfest.com and fill out the “Online Volunteer Form” to choose your preferred area and times. Contact Mr. Haardt or Mr. Zimmer if you have any questions.

Media Center
The MHS media center's online catalog, LS2PAC, is a great way for students to search and place holds on books. Students can log in using their FCPS GAFE account.
The media center's webpage also contains a wide range of databases and other digital resources available for student use in research or personal curiosity. To access the login information for each database, students may refer to the "Database Passwords" Google Doc located under the title "Database Subscriptions" on the grid.
Audio Books and eBooks
Is your student looking to listen to an audiobook or download an eBook? Axis360 is a resource provided by FCPS that contains eBooks and audiobooks available for check out on all digital devices. Both fiction and nonfiction titles are added regularly.
To access Axis360, students and staff log in with their FCPS IDs, and the PIN is the last four digits of their ID
