Friday, May 19 - Early dismissal Graduation Day forms due for underclassmen The MHS staff would like to thank all of the organizations and parent volunteers who helped make Teacher Appreciation week special for us by providing food, mailbox treats, and great prizes throughout the week! A special thank you to James Gang, the MHS Student Government Association, and the PTSA for your time and generosity!! There are only 65 Middletown High School yearbooks left! The number of books printed is based on orders with an additional number added for late sales. But those extra books are nearly gone, and there will be no additional printing of books! Go to www.jostensyearbooks.com to order yours today! The last day to order books online will be Monday, May 15. After that, books may be purchased at school in Room 312 during lunch shifts. Distribution day is Wednesday, May 17. If you are unsure whether you've ordered one, check with Mr. Kady in Room 312. Don't miss out! Come to a free concert on Tuesday, May 16 at 7:00 p.m. and see the MHS Concert Band perform in the MHS Auditorium! EARLY DISMISSAL on MHS GRADUATION DAY for Grades 9-11: MHS graduation will be on Wednesday, May 31 at 2 p.m. at Mt. St. Mary’s University. Undergraduate students may attend school the full day and regular bus service will be provided or they may opt for early dismissal at 10:45 a.m. if they complete and return the permission slip by May 19 to their KnightsQuest teacher: fcps.ezcommunicator.net/edu/frederick/upload/61/6690.doc.pdf Important Information for Seniors: 2017 Graduation Letter and Packet MHS Horticulture Spring Plant Sale through May 19! Hours are: Monday - Friday 11:30 - 2:30, Saturday 9-1, and Closed Sundays. We have vegetables, herbs, annuals, perennials and hanging baskets. Students taking online courses should contact Mrs. Bator at least a week in advance to schedule proctored tests and exams. Students can email pamela.bator@fcps.org or stop by Room 215. Exams are normally proctored on Mondays and Thursdays.

Congratulations to the MHS Unified Track and Field team who won the state championship on Wednesday at the Prince George's County Sports and Learning Complex! 19 athletes had top-three finishes, including 9 champions! Athletics this Week:
Excellent art work by Rachel Cross, Chrissy David, Damian Dye, Jacob Hoyt, John Pressly, and Marisa Mirani was on display at the Senior Final Exhibition opening reception. If you missed the opening, the work with be on display through June 2nd. Stop by the Main Cup and check it out! Congratulations to our winners Damian Dye - 1st place Best-In-Show, Jacob Hoyt - 2nd place, and Marisa Mirani - 3rd place. Great work everyone! In statewide SkillsUSA competition, 28 Frederick County Public Schools’ Career and Technology Center (CTC) students earned first-place gold medals in 12 competitions, some of which required teams. They qualify to represent Maryland in National SkillsUSA Championships, June 19-23 in Louisville, Kentucky. There they will compete against the best students from every state and territory in the U.S. Congratulations to the MIddletown students who won in the following categories: Joseph Kincaid in career pathways showcase (arts, audiovisual technology and communications), Hannah Miller in entrepreneurship, and August Shrader in robotics: urban search and rescue.
