Friday, April 14 - Friday, April 21 - Schools closed for spring break Friday, April 21 - Community Blood Drive at MHS MHS Junior and Senior Prom will be held on Friday, April 28 at the Walkersville Social Hall. This year's theme is "Secret Garden". Prom tickets will be on sale during all lunch shifts beginning Monday, April 24 and ending Thursday, April 27. Pre-ticket sales will be from 8-2 on Friday, April 21 in the front office. Please note that Dance Guideline Forms must be signed and turned in when purchasing tickets and all outstanding obligations must be cleared for students to purchase prom tickets. Hours should reflect time volunteered from May 1, 2016 until April 30, 2017. Volunteer Hours for the last few days in April 2017 can be estimated. You can email your total number of hours to vicki.grossnickle@fcps.org with a subject of Volunteer Hours or you may turn in your MHS Volunteer Hours Log Sheet to the front office. Please include your name, organization(s) for which you volunteered, for example: PTSA, Drama Boosters, etc. and total number of hours volunteered for each organization. Hours should reflect the time volunteered for Middletown High School ONLY. Please DO NOT submit hours worked at other schools. Middletown High School SGA will be hosting a community blood drive on Friday, April 21 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Please help us reach our goal of 35 pints! Visit www.redcrossblood.org and enter Middletown High to schedule an appointment or contact Tammy Barlow at tammy.barlow@fcps.org. MHS Horticulture is preparing to open for the spring plant sale. The sale begins Saturday, April 29th and will continue through May 19th. Hours are: Monday - Friday 11:30 - 2:30, Saturday 9-1:00, and Closed Sunday. We have vegetables, herbs, annuals, perennials and hanging baskets. The Baccalaureate committee is still in need of one or two underclassmen parents to help serve refreshments after the service. Everything will be provided. The Baccalaureate service will be Sunday, May 28 at 7pm in the MHS auditorium. If you are interested in helping please email mhsbacc2017@gmail.com. Marching Knights Spirit Night at Ledo Pizza on Prospect Boulevard is on Wednesday, April 26. Mention the MHS Marching Knights and they will contribute 20% of all mentioned sales for the day! An Evening of Jazz at The "Knight" Club will be held on Saturday, May 6 at 7 PM at MHS. Appetizers, Soft Drinks and Coffee will be served. Performance by the MHS Jazz Ensemble and Dance Line. Tickets on sale at mhsknightsband.net/joomla/index.php/95-mhs/95-jazz-tickets. Is your student (ages 14-17) working this summer? Click here for a Minor Work Permit Fact Sheet. Minors must be offered employment before applying for a work permit. The minor must enter his or her personal information and employment information directly online and print the completed document. Because of the State of Maryland's policy, there is no paperwork handed out by the counseling office for minors to complete. Go to the State of Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation to fill out a Work Permit, at: www.dllr.state.md.us/ChildWorkPermit Students taking online courses should contact Mrs. Bator at least a week in advance when it comes time to schedule proctored tests and exams. Students can email her at pamela.bator@fcps.org or stop by Room 215. Exams are normally proctored on Mondays and Thursdays.
