Wednesday, April 12 - Report cards issued to students Friday, April 14 - Friday, April 21 - Schools closed for spring break On Saturday, April 1 the Middletown Lions Club will be holding an All You Can Eat Breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 at the Middletown Fire Company Activities Building. Menu includes pancakes, french toast, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fruit, coffee, tea, milk and juice. Cost is $7.50 for adults, $6.50 for seniors, $4.00 for children 6 to 11, 5 and under free. The Lions Club awards scholarships to 3 MHS seniors each year. Please consider supporting this fine organization and enjoy a delicious breakfast! West Green Street Improvements: Milling and paving operations will take place April 4 through April 17, depending on the weather. Streets that will be affected are Bussard Drive, Koogle Drive, Garage Drive, Willow Street, West Green Street, and the Town Hall parking lot. For an up to date schedule of when these paving operations will take place, please visit the Town website at www.middletown.md.us and click on the link for West Green Street Improvements. There will be no traffic allowed on the streets while paving operations are underway. The latest in spirit wear is coming back to MHS! The Band Boosters will be selling Middletown spirit t-shirts and hoodies next week during lunch shifts. On Wednesday, 4/5, Thursday 4/6, and Friday 4/7, your student will be able to buy a t-shirt for $15 and a hoodie for $25. Click here to get a sneak peek at the clothing. Students may bring cash or a check made payable to MHS Band Boosters. Attention Parents of Seniors: We need photos of your children (group or singles, young and old) to be used at our graduation ceremony. Please email photos to mhs2017senirors@gmail.com Middletown High School will be offering the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) to all students who are interested in the military on Friday, April 28 at 9:30. Please complete this registration form by Thursday, April 13. For more general information about the ASVAB, visit www.military.com/join-armed-forces/asvab/asvab-test-explained.html The MHS Drama Department presents "Damn Yankees" Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8 at 7 p.m., Sunday, April 9 at 2 p.m. - an ASL interpreter will be available at Sunday show. Ticket prices: adults - $12, students and senior citizens - $10. Please direct any questions to maria.duva@fcps.org. The JV/Varsity Baseball Teams will be hosting their annual Bingo on Saturday, April 8 at the Middletown Fire Hall Activities Building with doors opening at 5 p.m. Your ticket buys you access to 20 regular games, each with a $75 jackpot. You may purchase additional games for a chance at a $250 and $500 jackpot as well as 3 special raffle baskets. There will also be opportunities to win additional raffle baskets, tip jar payouts, a 50/50 and many door prizes. On Sunday, April 9 the MHS Band Boosters will be hosting a special fundraiser-Ford's Drive 4UR School. Our local Ford dealership, the Frederick Motor Company, will bring 6-7 different vehicles to the MHS front parking lot where you can take a test drive in Middletown. For each test drive taken by drivers 18 and over, Ford will donate $20 to the MHS Band Boosters! The event will run from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Spread the word! We hope to see you there! Tuesday, April 11 - 25th Annual MHS Empty Bowls Banquet at 6 p.m. in the Cafeteria. Tickets include: Performance by “The Voice” Paul Pfau, Meal provided by Carrabba’s in Germantown, Ceramic bowl crafted by MHS Ceramic Classes, and Silent Auction. Tickets are $14 Adults, $12 Students (13 thru college) and $7 children (12 and under) and are available now at the MHS Front Office (240-236-7400). For more information contact: james.zimmer@fcps.org A mandatory pre-administration meeting for ALL students taking AP exams is scheduled for Tuesday, April 11 and Wednesday, April 12 in the auditorium. Last names A-J should report on April 11 at 10 a.m. All others should report on April 12 at 10 a.m. Students who have CTC or Open Campus must attend on April 12 at 2:30 p.m. in Room 210. Students taking AP exams should turn in their attendance forms as soon as possible to the attendance office. PTSA Leadership Opportunities: Are you or someone you know interested in becoming a PTSA Officer for the 2017-2018 School year? We are looking for volunteers to serve as President, Vice President, Treasurer or Secretary, as well as chairs for all committees. Are you nervous about your teen’s upcoming transition out of high school? In today’s world, teens spend multiple hours on the Internet, texting, and on social media sites. Their lives can be derailed by abusive relationships, and other risky behaviors which are often never disclosed to their parents. Parents of teens transitioning out of high school are invited to attend this informative session. The conversation will include content for a mature audience, but your high school juniors and seniors are welcome to attend the event with a parent. Join the Tuscarora PTA for a presentation by Theresa Hiegel of the Victim Services Unit and Detective Stephanie Kelly, both with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, April 25 at 7 p.m. in the Tuscarora High School Auditorium. Baccalaureate Performers Needed: Seniors, please sign-up on the bulletin board if you would like to showcase your talent for Baccalaureate. We are looking for speakers, singers, dancers, musical performances of any type, and especially an emcee. Mandatory rehearsal is May 21 at 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium and the Baccalaureate Service is Sunday, May 28 at 7 p.m. This year's theme is acceptance, love and inclusion. Artwork Needed for Baccalaureate Program: Seniors, if you would like to submit a piece of artwork to be showcased in the Baccalaureate Program, please send to mhsbacc2017@gmail.com in jpeg format and include your name. This year's theme is acceptance, love and inclusion. The committee will vote on the most representative piece(s). Please note program will measure 5.5" x 8.5" and print in black and white. Deadline is April 4. Students taking online courses should contact Mrs. Bator at least a week in advance when it comes time to schedule proctored tests and exams. Students can email her at pamela.bator@fcps.org or stop by Room 215. Exams are normally proctored on Mondays and Thursdays.

Friday, April 28 - MHS Junior and Senior Prom will be held at the Walkersville Social Hall. Prom tickets will be on sale during all lunch shifts beginning Monday, April 24 and ending Thursday, April 27. Pre-ticket sales will be from 8-2 on Friday, April 21 in the front office. Please note that Dance Guideline Forms must be signed and turned in when purchasing tickets and all outstanding obligations must be cleared for students to purchase prom tickets.
