INFORMATION FOR SENIORS
NO GRADUATION PRACTICE ON MONDAY, MAY 23 Excellent practice today seniors! PLEASE SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH YOUR PARENTS!!! You did such a great job that you do NOT need to have practice on Monday, May 23. If you were absent today and didn't get your graduation tickets, you can pick them in the front office during school hours. We will send out graduation day reminders either tomorrow or Monday. Make sure to check your Schoology messages and posts.
GRADUATION TICKETS DISTRIBUTED FRIDAY, MAY 20 Graduation tickets were distributed to seniors during graduation practice on Friday, May 20. Each senior was given 7 tickets. All graduation ceremony attendees must have a ticket. Remember that students must report by 1:15 PM.
BACCALAUREATE SERVICE Holy Family Catholic Church Sunday, May 22 at 7:00 PM The community will host a baccalaureate for seniors to celebrate the end of the student's academic career and encourage them to embrace the next phase of their lives. It will be held this year at Holy Family Catholic Church at 7 PM on Sunday, May 22. This is voluntary and not an FCPS or MHS sponsored event.
FCPS GRADUATIONS WILL BE LIVESTREAMED FCPS will be livestreaming these cherished events, making it possible for loved ones and friends who are not able to attend the graduations, to watch them as they happen.
To view an FCPS graduation livestream:
HEALTH REMINDERS FOR GRADUATION We would like to take a moment to remind the community of our COVID-19 Screening Guidelines. Please do not attend graduation services in person if you are experiencing primary COVID-19 symptoms or are currently infected with COVID-19. Primary COVID-19 symptoms include:
Although the community is experiencing an increased number of COVID-19 cases at this time, Frederick County is considered by the CDC to be at a Low Community Level of COVID-19. CDC COVID Data Tracker
Below are CDC recommended actions based on our current community level:
Facial coverings (adult and child size surgical masks and KN-95 masks) will be available at the entrance gates. Hand sanitizer will be available at the entrance gates and at various locations in the arena. The health and safety of our FCPS community is our highest priority.
PARKING REMINDERS FOR GRADUATION The Frederick County Sheriff's Office and contracted private security officers will be assisting Frederick County Public Schools with the commencement ceremonies set to take place May 23rd through May 27th 2022 at Mount St. Mary's University.
Guests are strongly encouraged to park on the west side of Route 15, due to the limited parking on the east side of Route 15. There is a pedestrian underpass under Route 15 that brings you to the rear doors of the Knott Athletic Complex. In many cases the walk from the west side of Route 15 will be shorter than the walk from where you will be directed to park, if you elect to park on the east side of Route 15.
Guests who choose to park on the east side of Route 15 will have to abide by the direction of uniformed sheriff's deputies and private security officers. Lots are filled in a manner that allows for the best use of space in the limited time frame; the closest areas are not necessarily parked first.
Deputies and the private security officers will be directing the flow of traffic, where vehicles will park, and the direction of vehicles exiting the event once complete. Once the upper lots, A-F, are full, guests will be directed to park in one of the two lots off of College Lane. Buses, campers and limousines must park in the large gravel lot down College Lane. College Lane will be one way and traffic will only travel eastbound toward Old Frederick Road. Guests who are directed to park in either one of these gravel lots must exit to the left, away from the complex toward Old Frederick Road. Vehicles will not be able to access the complex from Old Frederick Road.
Guests will need to obey "No Parking" signs and "Handicap Parking'' signs. The location for drop-off and pickup of individuals with disabilities will be on the east side of the Knott Athletic Complex. Handicapped parking is extremely limited and is filled on a first come first served basis.
Guests are reminded that Mount St. Mary's University is private property and if they park in a designated "no parking" area, their vehicle will be towed. There will be no parking on the Elizabeth DiNuzio Memorial Trail; Mount Public Safety Officers will be monitoring the property and will act in accordance with their policies.
Guests and graduates are also asked to walk on the sidewalks, use the crosswalks and avoid walking or standing in the fire lane that is just outside of the front doors of the Knott Athletic Complex. This lane needs to remain clear for guests dropping off or picking up individuals with disabilities and for emergency equipment.
Please be aware that the parking process, particularly on the east side outside of the arena, will potentially take a long time due to the high volume of traffic coming to the arena. Guests should be in the arena at least fifteen minutes prior to the start of the ceremony. Doors to the arena will close approximately 10 minutes before the start of the ceremony to allow graduates to process into the arena. Anyone not already seated will have to wait to be admitted until after the graduates are seated.
There will be a high volume of both vehicle and pedestrian traffic on these days; our goal is to maintain public safety.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Breakfast and lunch are available on days when students are in school. Please note that snacks, ice cream, and drinks (other than milk) are not free and must be purchased from the cafeteria.
Free to-go dinner and snack meals will be available daily for students to take home with them after school starting Monday, August 23, at Middletown High School in addition to some other school locations.
