******************************************************************************************************* MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL *******************************************************************************************************
Dear MHS Parents,
For seven years, our community has been very fortunate to have Ms. Brooke Hontz as an assistant principal. Brooke will be transferring to Oakdale High School this coming July. We’ll miss her calm competence and her sincere interest the success of all students. Ms. Hontz has made a significant impact with our community and I can’t imagine going through the complications of the last couple of years without her wisdom, sense of humor, and dedicated hard work. Please join me in thanking her for her time at MHS.
Ms. Stephanie Bittner, most recently from Brunswick High School, will be joining our administrative team this summer. I know you will welcome her as we start the new school year in August.
Congratulations to our Senior class, making it to the last days of classes and our graduation practices this week. We will not need to use the time allotted for Monday for practice. I know that they are looking forward to bringing their families a wonderful and dignified ceremony. Please remind them to stay safe and smart over this weekend.
Graduation will be Tuesday, May 24, starting promptly at 2:00 PM in the Knott Arena at the PNC Sports Complex on the campus of Mount Saint Mary’s University. Guests will begin to be admitted at 1:00 PM.
Seating in the arena is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parking is also first-come, first-serve basis. As you can imagine, parking will be very tight and traffic will be heavy around Emmitsburg, so students are encouraged to travel with their family, guests are encouraged to carpool, and you are encouraged to plan your travel time accordingly.
Senior parents, thank you for all of your support for our school over these past four years. This senior class has weathered the storms together, and will finish together, next Tuesday.
Sincerely,
Bernie Quesada Principal, MHS
