MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear MHS Families,
MHS Announces the Martin Luther King, Jr. Award Recipient: Joshua Doyon
Each year, Frederick County Public Schools celebrates the leadership qualities of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by hosting a winter celebration. A representative from each school is chosen to represent the student body and must possess and demonstrate leadership characteristics both in and out of the classroom. This year's theme is Stronger Together: Be the Peace You Wish to See in the World. We are pleased to announce Senior Joshua Doyon as our Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Award recipient. Josh is an incredibly kind, well-mannered, considerate young man. He shows dedication to his studies and works hard to maintain his grades and manage his classwork. Most impressive, is Josh's commitment to his community. During the pandemic, Josh volunteered with "I Believe in Me," a non-profit organization. He helped to distribute thousands of meals to people in need. He turned the struggles that were brought about by COVID and turned them into an opportunity to help others.
Frederick County Public Schools students and staff will celebrate the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during a virtual celebration that premiered this week on Thursday, January 13. The celebration was pre-recorded and will debut on FCPS-TV and the FCPS Maryland YouTube channel. The event will also re-air throughout the month on FCPS-TV.
Please join us in congratulating Josh as he is much deserving of this honor.
Sincerely, Bernie Quesada Principal, Middletown High School
