FCPS Device Reminder: Please Return Unused Chromebooks Any student who was issued an FCPS Chromebook but is no longer using it is reminded to return it to the MHS Media Center as soon as possible. Some students are now using their own devices but never turned in their FCPS issued Chromebooks and chargers. Even if the device was issued several years ago, they are still on the student's record and must be returned. A replacement charge for the Chromebook and charger will be added to the student's School Cash account if they are not turned in. Please remind students to look for devices at home and bring them in. The cost to replace a lost Chromebook is $300 and the charger is $30. Please contact Mrs. Sgrignoli at maria.sgrignoli@fcps.org if you have any questions.
Maryland Seal Of Biliteracy Does your child use a language besides English at home? MHS, FCPS, and the state of Maryland would like to honor and celebrate that! The Maryland State Seal of Biliteracy is an award that recognizes a student's high level of proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English and one or more other languages. These languages DO NOT need to be taught in school, so if you speak another language at home, you may be eligible. Maryland is one of more than 45 states that now offer the designation, and it conveys to colleges and employers that your child has a skill few others possess! Please see or email Ms. Stutzman (marcia.stutzman@fcps.org) for information on the award.

The MHS Yearbook: Photo Request Deadline: Friday, January 7 The yearbook wants to include photos of you doing the things you enjoy on your own time, from spending time with family or a close group of friends, to participating in outdoor activities like hiking or fishing, to working at a job or volunteering in the community. But the staff can't be everywhere all the time, so it is asking for your help in collecting photographs.

The Student Homelessness Initiative Partnership (SHIP) is a local nonprofit organization that helps provide essential items and services to these students.

Attention Senior Parents: Senior Yearbook Ad Deadline Monday, December 20 Monday, December 20, is the deadline for purchasing a senior ad in the yearbook. Leave a special word of encouragement or share a memory with your graduating senior. Students love the photos you pick (especially the ones of them as babies, which we will use in the yearbook's fun "beautiful baby" collage and contest) and the notes you leave for them. You don't want your senior to miss out!
"I see it happen every year. The first thing seniors turn to when they get their yearbook is the message and photos that their parents have submitted for them. You get a lot of smiles and a lot of happy tears, too. It's a really special moment for most of these seniors." - Noah Kady, Yearbook Adviser
Parents can go directly to the website at Jostensyearbook.com to place an order. Under the "Yearbooks" tab, go to "Order Your Yearbook Ad" and pick "Order a Student Ad". You can design your ad right there on the site or simply submit the photos and have a Jostens representative do it for you.
Contact Mr. Kady at noah.kady@fcps.org with any questions.
