********************************************************************** MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL **********************************************************************
Dear Parents,
Congratulations to our Senior class, making it through our first graduation practice even with no electricity. However, the weather cooperated and we were able to practice for next week under sunny skies. Our seniors did excellent work and I know that they are looking forward to bringing their families a wonderful ceremony. Please remind them to stay safe and smart over this long weekend.
On Tuesday, June, 1st, we will have our last practice from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM. We will start promptly in the stadium, so plan to arrive early. Seniors will receive their tickets and any other cords, pins, certificates, etc.. at the conclusion of practice that morning in preparation for Wednesday.
Graduation will begin Wednesday, June 2nd starting promptly at 10:00 AM in the stadium at MHS. Guests will start to be admitted to the stadium at 9:00 AM. Students will need to report to MHS for line up by 9:15 AM that morning (the earlier the better). Traffic will be stopped outside the school on Schoolhouse Drive, both directions, a few minutes before the ceremony (approximately 9:50) in order for our graduates to enter the stadium from the school, so please plan accordingly.
Seating in the stadium is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parking is also first-come, first-serve basis. As you can imagine, parking will be very tight, so students are encouraged to travel with their family, and guests are encouraged to carpool. Graduation is planned to take place, rain or shine; however, in the event of the forecast of severe inclement weather, decisions will be made at 5:30 AM on June 2.
Diplomas will be distributed in the MHS cafeteria after the ceremony on June 2.
Thank you for all of your support for our school over these past four years. This senior class has weathered the storms together and will finish together next Wednesday.
Lastly, no words are enough to thank the military men and women who lived for our country and died for their countrymen. Please keep the families of our fallen veterans in your thoughts and in your deeds this Memorial Day. We all owe them a debt that we can not repay. Thank you to all of the veterans in our community as well.
Sincerley,
Bernie Quesada Principal, MHS
