Enter information as completely as possible. Enter special instructions in the note section, (for example, "Please email transcript to (insert email address)" or "Please include counselor recommendation form"). There will be a $2.00 fee (cash or check payable to MHS) per official transcript prepared, payable when the transcript is picked up. You will be notified when it is ready. Please allow 5 business days for a transcript request.
MARYLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP The Maryland Community College Promise Scholarship offers students up to $5,000 annually to attend a Maryland community college. The Maryland Higher Education Commission’s (MHEC) Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) administers the scholarship.
As of July 1, 2020, the service obligation and the age requirement have been eliminated to offer more Maryland students the opportunity to be eligible for up to $5,000 annually to attend a Maryland community college for the 2021-2022 academic year.
IMPORTANT: In order to qualify for the MD Promise Scholarship you must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by March 1, 2021.

LAST DAY TO APPLY TO CAREER & TECHNOLOGY CENTER VIRTUAL SHADOWING Friday, March 5 FCPS students in grades 9, 10 & 11 who have shadowed at CTC and are interested in applying to a program at the Career & Technology Center for the 2021-2022 school year must do so by Friday, March 5, 2021.
Students interested in applying to a program at the FCPS Career & Technology Center will need to log in with their FCPS Student User ID & Password to access the Shadow Request Form and/or the Online Application.
FCPS Student User IDs start with the student's birth year, followed by their first initial and last name (ex. 01WSmith). Students do not need to include my.fcps.org after their User ID. Passwords are unique to each student.
Students will receive a confirmation email when submitting a CTC Application at their my.fcps.org email account

COLLEGE BOARD VIRTUAL "BigFuture Days" Sunday, March 7 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM The College Board is holding their Big Future First Virtual College Fair. This is a virtual opportunity for sophomores and juniors to explore colleges in a way that’s informative but not overwhelming. This allows prospective students to connect directly with college admissions representatives and take action on important steps to prepare for college. Also, this may benefit students who are in the midst of a college search, already started the process, or have no idea where to begin.

TERM 3 - INTERIM PROGRESS REPORT (IPR) PROCESS
Please check Schoology for your child's most current interim grade. As always, please reach out to your student's teacher, counselor or administrator should you need additional information, clarification or help. See MHS Staff listing here. Note: Interims will only be mailed home for those students receiving a D or F on Thursday, March 11.
Students in Dual Enrollment or FCVS If your child is enrolled in a course offered through the Dual Enrollment program with Frederick Community College (FCC) or is currently taking a course offered through the Frederick County Virtual School (FCVS), grades are not posted for these programs in Schoology. It is highly recommended that you check your child's progress using their FCC Blackboard account.
FREDERICK COUNTY VIRTUAL SCHOOL SUMMER CLASSES Google Form Due Friday, March 12 Students: Are you interested in taking a course virtually this summer? There are many courses available through Frederick County Virtual School to help students catch up, get ahead with credits, or just to take a course in a virtual format. Interested students should sign into their FCPS account and then complete this google form. Responses will be sent to the student's counselor at Middletown High School. BLACK COLLEGE EXPO VIRTUAL COLLEGE FAIR Friday, March 19, 2021 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Black College Expo will be hosted LIVE virtually until we can return safely to physical events. The Virtual Atlanta/DC/Miami Black College Expo is an ONLINE Experience for students to get access to colleges, highlighting HBCU (historically black colleges and universities) and other educational programs. College acceptance on the spot is possible, and application fees may be waived.

AP Testing Schedule and Information Spring 2021 The College Board recently released information about the 2021 AP Testing Administration in May. Middletown High School administrators, in collaboration with MHS AP Teachers, have been hard at work creating an AP Testing Schedule that works best for our AP students. Volunteer Hours And Community Service Form Students who have completed volunteer or service work for a community organization should complete the Record of Volunteer Hours and Community Service Form. For every 75 hours of service completed, students will be recognized at the Annual Awards Ceremony. This form can be found outside Room 502 and in the front vestibule. It can also be printed from the WBL Website. Completed forms can be dropped off at the WBL Office (Room 502), in the front vestibule in the Workstudy box, or emailed to Mr. Zimmer or Mrs. Gibson.

MHS EXTENDED LEARNING OPPORTUNITY (ELO) TUTORING Directions: Click the calendar link, below, for the ELO course and select the date and time that you would like to meet with a teacher. All ELO tutoring sessions are conducted via Google Meet. A link will be provided with sign-up confirmation.
SUPPORT SERVICES: Students and family members who are experiencing difficulty may wish to contact the Frederick County Mental Health Association (MHA).
Walk-In Behavioral Health Services The Walk-in Service has resumed seeing clients in person at their office located at 226 South Jefferson Street in Frederick for those who prefer to see someone face to face. They are also continuing to offer their Virtual Walk-In platform for those who feel more comfortable with that. The MHA's call center is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. From intervention, a caring and supporting voice at a moment of crisis, to connecting to resources and information, dial 211.

SELECTIVE SERVICE REGISTRATION This is a reminder that all males are required by law to register for the Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday. Preregistration can be done at 17 years, 3 months and the registration held until the 18th birthday. Failure to register can create future issues: the inability to receive federally funded college loans and grants, to obtain federally funded training and certification programs and federal employment.
