Enter information as completely as possible. Enter special instructions in the note section, (for example, "Please email transcript to (insert email address)" or "Please include counselor recommendation form"). There will be a $2.00 fee (cash or check payable to MHS) per official transcript prepared, payable when the transcript is picked up. You will be notified when it is ready. Please allow 5 business days for a transcript request.
MARYLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP The Maryland Community College Promise Scholarship offers students up to $5,000 annually to attend a Maryland community college. The Maryland Higher Education Commission’s (MHEC) Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) administers the scholarship.
As of July 1, 2020, the service obligation and the age requirement have been eliminated to offer more Maryland students the opportunity to be eligible for up to $5,000 annually to attend a Maryland community college for the 2021-2022 academic year.
IMPORTANT: In order to qualify for the MD Promise Scholarship you must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by March 1, 2021.

Since 1986, the Community Foundation has been the leading source for post-secondary scholarship funding in Frederick County. Our program supports nearly every area of study imaginable, with scholarships funded by generous donors who believe in the value of education.
The Community Foundation of Frederick County scholarship application will be available for the 2021-2022 academic year beginning March 1, 2021. The completed application with required attachments must be submitted online no later than 11:59 p.m. EST on Tuesday, March 31, 2021.
Students about to complete their senior year of high school, students already enrolled in a trade school, college or university, and non-traditional students over the age of 21 are eligible to apply. Scholarship criteria are established by the scholarship funds' founding donors. Some scholarships do not consider financial need. All students are encouraged to apply.

FREDERICK COMMUNITY COLLEGE VIRTUAL INFORMATION NIGHT Thursday, March 4, 2021 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Frederick Community College is hosting a virtual information night on Thursday, March 4, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The event is for FCPS high school seniors interested in learning about some of the many educational opportunities at FCC. Participants will hear from Admissions, Counseling & Advising, and Financial Aid. There will be academic breakout sessions to hear directly from faculty. There will also be a student panel and time questions.

LAST DAY TO APPLY TO CAREER & TECHNOLOGY CENTER VIRTUAL SHADOWING Friday, March 5 FCPS students in grades 9, 10 & 11 who have shadowed at CTC and are interested in applying to a program at the Career & Technology Center for the 2021-2022 school year must do so by Friday, March 5, 2021.
Students interested in applying to a program at the FCPS Career & Technology Center will need to log in with their FCPS Student User ID & Password to access the Shadow Request Form and/or the Online Application.
FCPS Student User IDs start with the student's birth year, followed by their first initial and last name (ex. 01WSmith). Students do not need to include my.fcps.org after their User ID. Passwords are unique to each student.

COLLEGE BOARD VIRTUAL "BigFuture Days" Sunday, March 7 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM The College Board is holding their Big Future First Virtual College Fair. This is a virtual opportunity for sophomores and juniors to explore colleges in a way that’s informative but not overwhelming. This allows prospective students to connect directly with college admissions representatives and take action on important steps to prepare for college. Also, this may benefit students who are in the midst of a college search, already started the process, or have no idea where to begin.

BLACK COLLEGE FAIR VIRTUAL COLLEGE FAIR Friday, March 19, 2021 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Black College Expo will be hosted LIVE virtually until we can return safely to physical events. The Virtual Atlanta/DC/Miami Black College Expo is an ONLINE Experience for students to get access to colleges, highlighting HBCU (historically black colleges and universities) and other educational programs. College acceptance on the spot is possible, and application fees may be waived.

MHS EXTENDED LEARNING OPPORTUNITY (ELO) TUTORING Directions: Click the calendar link, below, for the ELO course and select the date and time that you would like to meet with a teacher. All ELO tutoring sessions are conducted via Google Meet. A link will be provided with sign-up confirmation.
SUPPORT SERVICES: Students and family members who are experiencing difficulty may wish to contact the Frederick County Mental Health Association (MHA).
Walk-In Behavioral Health Services The Walk-in Service has resumed seeing clients in person at their office located at 226 South Jefferson Street in Frederick for those who prefer to see someone face to face. They are also continuing to offer their Virtual Walk-In platform for those who feel more comfortable with that. The MHA's call center is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. From intervention, a caring and supporting voice at a moment of crisis, to connecting to resources and information, dial 211.

SELECTIVE SERVICE REGISTRATION This is a reminder that all males are required by law to register for the Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday. Preregistration can be done at 17 years, 3 months and the registration held until the 18th birthday. Failure to register can create future issues: the inability to receive federally funded college loans and grants, to obtain federally funded training and certification programs and federal employment.
