Enter information as completely as possible. Enter special instructions in the note section, (for example, "Please email transcript to (insert email address)" or "Please include counselor recommendation form"). There will be a $2.00 fee (cash or check payable to MHS) per official transcript prepared, payable when the transcript is picked up. You will be notified when it is ready. Please allow 5 business days for a transcript request.
MARYLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP The Maryland Community College Promise Scholarship offers students up to $5,000 annually to attend a Maryland community college. The Maryland Higher Education Commission’s (MHEC) Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) administers the scholarship.
As of July 1, 2020, the service obligation and the age requirement have been eliminated to offer more Maryland students the opportunity to be eligible for up to $5,000 annually to attend a Maryland community college for the 2021-2022 academic year.
IMPORTANT: In order to qualify for the MD Promise Scholarship you must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by March 1, 2021.

FCPS Releases Bus Transportation Information for Hybrid Model Middletown High School students who have selected the hybrid model of instruction are scheduled to begin in-person classes on Tuesday, February 16. To accommodate students who require bus transportation, and in order to ensure safe distancing, FCPS has created new bus routes and pick-up/drop off times. This information is now available for families prior to the first day of in-person class.
In order to determine what bus your student is scheduled to ride, along with pickup and drop off times, please go to the following link: Transportation Bus Routes
Click on "Bus Stop Information". Enter your street number in the first block, followed by your street name in the second block, then click "Submit." Pickup and drop off times should appear on the next screen with appropriate bus route number.
JUNIORS AND SENIORS: The Rotary Club of Frederick Speech Contest Deadline to sign up: Tuesday, February 16 The Rotary Club of Frederick is offering cash prizes for a speech contest. All juniors and seniors who wish to compete must sign up by 3 PM on Tuesday, February 16. The winner from MHS will go on to compete virtually with Frederick Rotary Club judges on Tuesday, February 23, 7PM, at Hood College. Prizes are as follows: 1st place= $500 2nd place= $425 3rd place= $350 4th place=$300

Sophomores: Early College Information Night Wednesday, February 17 at 7:00 PM Attend the final FCC Early College Information Night on Wednesday, February 17 at 7 PM via Google Meet to learn more about the newest FCC Dual Enrollment program.
Early College is an opportunity for current FCPS sophomores to earn an associate’s degree and high school diploma simultaneously by attending Frederick Community College during their junior and senior years. The Early College program was created to increase participation and completion of students from populations historically underrepresented in higher education and is open to all FCPS high school students.
During this virtual presentation, members of the Dual Enrollment Team will go through the details of the Early College program and acceptance process, as well as answer questions from interested students and families. Applications for next year’s Early College class is open until April 1.

CAREER & TECHNOLOGY CENTER VIRTUAL SHADOWING IS NOW OPEN! Now through Friday, February 26 FCPS students in grades 9, 10 & 11 interested in learning more and/or applying to a program at the Career & Technology Center for the 2021-2022 school year can now sign up for a virtual shadow experience.
Students interested in shadowing and applying to a program at the FCPS Career & Technology Center will need to log in with their FCPS Student User ID & Password to access the Shadow Request Form and/or the Online Application.
FCPS Student User IDs start with the student's birth year, followed by their first initial and last name (ex. 01WSmith). Students do not need to include my.fcps.org after their User ID. Passwords are unique to each student.
Students will receive a confirmation email when submitting a Shadow Request or CTC Application at their my.fcps.org email account

MHS EXTENDED LEARNING OPPORTUNITY (ELO) TUTORING Directions: Click the calendar link, below, for the ELO course and select the date and time that you would like to meet with a teacher. All ELO tutoring sessions are conducted via Google Meet. A link will be provided with sign-up confirmation.

Walk-In Behavioral Health Services The Walk-in Service has resumed seeing clients in person at their office located at 226 South Jefferson Street in Frederick for those who prefer to see someone face to face. They are also continuing to offer their Virtual Walk-In platform for those who feel more comfortable with that. The MHA's call center is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. From intervention, a caring and supporting voice at a moment of crisis, to connecting to resources and information, dial 211.

The Free HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) Back to School College Fairs - July 2020 through March 2021 Students who are interested in attending an HBCU should consider filling out the Common Black College Application (CBCA), which for a limited time is only $20 to apply to 55 colleges and universities. SELECTIVE SERVICE REGISTRATION This is a reminder that all males are required by law to register for the Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday. Preregistration can be done at 17 years, 3 months and the registration held until the 18th birthday. Failure to register can create future issues: the inability to receive federally funded college loans and grants, to obtain federally funded training and certification programs and federal employment.
