MHS Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO) Tutoring
MHS Attendance Information
Term 2: 80 Minute Classes Effective with the start of term 2 on Tuesday, November 10, all FCPS high schools have initiated standard 80-minute classes on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings.
Teachers and students are expected to attend for the full period. This new expectation supports more-uniform instruction for all of students. The Wednesday schedule remains the same.
MHS National Letter of Intent Signing/Recognition Ceremony On Wednesday, November 11, MHS held a virtual National Letter of Intent Signing/Recognition Ceremony for seven student-athletes. Many years of hard work and dedication cumulates into this special day where student-athletes officially sign stating where they will continue a sport that they love and work towards their college degree. We are proud of all of our student-athletes and hope to celebrate them in person soon, but for now we get the opportunity to enjoy this day with these seven student-athletes and their families.

Several members of the MHS Key Club took advantage of Saturday’s beautiful weather and worked together to clean-up several parks in Middletown and the school grounds of the Middletown campus. Great job, Key Club!
Frederick County Public Library Virtual Teen Program The Frederick County Public Library offers Virtual Teen Programs each month for students to participate. They also offer Student Success Cards to all FCPS students. This card provides students access to a variety of FCPL library resources and materials. MHS Yearbook Information Jostens, the company that prints the Middletown High School yearbook, has its sales campaign in full swing, which has led to many questions in this year of the pandemic.

Career & Technology Center Virtual Shadowing Is Now Open! Thursday, November 12 - Friday, February 26 FCPS students in grades 9, 10 & 11 interested in learning more and/or applying to a program at the Career & Technology Center for the 2021-2022 school year can now sign up for a virtual shadow experience.

MHS 2020 FFA Citrus Sale It is that time of year again! Citrus orders for MHS FFA are available. All citrus is grown through the Florida Farm Bureau and the apples are local from Catoctin Mountain Orchard. We also have pears, pineapples, nuts and juice for sale. You can also donate citrus to the food bank or soup kitchen.

Middletown Valley People Helping People (MVPHP) Holiday Adopt A Family Program Last year, through community generosity, MVPHP's Holiday Adopt A Family Program helped over 200 local children by providing toys, clothing, boots, shoes and gift cards. FAFSA Assistance: Virtual Appointments A number of community partners are bringing Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Finish Virtual Events to the community this fall to provide students and parents with assistance in completing the FAFSA. These virtual appointments are also available to assist families in completing the Maryland State Financial Aid Application (MSFAA), which allows qualified children of undocumented immigrants who qualify for in-state tuition under 15-106.8 of the MD Education Article to apply and be considered for certain types of state need-based financial aid.
During these virtual appointments, a financial aid expert will work with students and parents in completing these applications and will be available to answer any questions. FAFSA and MSFAA applications must be completed by Monday, March 1, 2021 for a student to be considered for state-based financial aid.
