FCC DUAL ENROLLMENT GRADES:
DUAL ENROLLMENT STUDENTS have been advised to talk with parents about their current grades. If your child has not told you how they are performing in an FCC course, PLEASE ask them. You will NOT be notified of FCC grades due to FERPA (see below). Dual Enrollment grades do NOT appear on Schoology or HAC. Students’ grades are kept on “Blackboard,” a web-based system used by FCC to manage grades, assignments and information. This is especially important for students taking a class that fulfills a high school graduation requirement.
FERPA – Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act stipulates that the privacy of student records is protected under federal law. If a student is enrolled in a post-secondary institution, the rights under FERPA are transferred to the student, no matter the student’s age. Students are responsible for communication with instructors; parent emails and phone calls will not be entertained due to FERPA laws.
The Free SAT Test Administration for all MHS Juniors, originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 25 has been cancelled. If a new date is scheduled, information will be sent out.
Community Foundation Scholarship Applications The Community Foundation of Frederick County’s 2020-2021 scholarship application will be open from Sunday, March 1 through 11:59 PM on Tuesday, March 31.
