Baccalaureate Help Needed The PTSA is looking for parents of juniors and seniors to help with the 2020 Senior Baccalaureate to be scheduled in May 2020. Planning will starts soon. This time-honored tradition is a student-led community program for MHS seniors to celebrate their upcoming graduation by hearing inspirational speakers, enjoying the talents of fellow seniors, and reflecting on their life journey to graduation. We are the only school in the county that hosts a Baccalaureate. It is always well-received by parents and students alike, and although this is a ceremony for seniors, interested parents of juniors are encouraged to assist in order to gain experience and insight for their future senior's baccalaureate. An informational meeting will be forthcoming in December. If you are interested in helping the PTSA and MHS seniors plan this year’s Baccalaureate, please email the PTSA Baccalaureate Committee at mhsptsabacc@gmail.com
Become A Member! Please remember to support your MHS PTSA by becoming a member or contributing to the Write-A-Check fund. Becoming a member doesn't commit you to volunteer, but it gives you a vote and a voice in advocating for improvements for our school and Frederick County teachers! Both the membership and the Write-a-Check fundraiser provide the financial wherewithal for the PTSA to organize and implement a wide range of activities in support of the MHS experience for the students. In addition, volunteers are always welcome to help at individual events. As a friendly reminder, Seniors who wish to apply for the $500 PTSA scholarship in the Spring must be members as well.

Yearbook: Senior Ad Deadline Sunday, December 22 Sunday, December 22, is the deadline for purchasing a senior ad in the yearbook. However, space is limited. Therefore, ad purchases will be treated as first-come, first-served. Leave a special word of encouragement or share a memory with your graduating senior. Students love the photos you pick (especially the ones of them as babies) and the notes you leave for them. You don't want your senior to miss out. "I see it happen every year. The first thing seniors turn to when they get their yearbook is the message and photos that their parents have submitted for them. You get a lot of smiles and a lot of happy tears, too. It's a really special moment for most of these seniors." - Noah Kady, Yearbook Adviser Parents can go directly to the website at Jostensyearbook.com to place an order. Under the "Yearbooks" tab, go to "Order Your Yearbook Ad" and pick "Order a Student Ad". You can design your ad right there on the site or simply submit the photos and have a Jostens representative do it for you.
Baccalaureate Help Needed Hey class of 2020! Did you know that it’s an MHS tradition for the senior class to hold a Baccalaureate celebration? Did you know the MHS is the only school in the county that hosts an annual Baccalaureate? The Baccalaureate is a reflective celebration held close to graduation to look back on the road to high school graduation. You’ll hear some great words of wisdom, enjoy fellow senior talent, and just have some fun together with your classmates. MHS PTSA is proud to be able to sponsor this event, but this is your event and so we need your help to make it happen. An informational meeting will be forthcoming next month.Any senior interested in being a part of the senior baccalaureate planning committee should email the PTSA at mhsptsabacc@gmail.com
