CHROMEBOOK COLLECTION BEGINS NEXT WEEK FOR SENIORS
SENIOR CHROMEBOOK COLLECTION IS MONDAY, MAY 15, IN ROOM A206. Please bring your chromebook, case and power cord to room A206, anytime during the day.
We will be collecting UNDERCLASSMEN chromebooks on Tuesday, May 30, and Wednesday, May 31, in the media center. Please go to the Underclassmen Chromebook Collection Schedule for your assigned return date and time. Also, please remember to bring your CASE and POWERCORD, in additon to your CHROMEBOOK.
MYSCHOOLBUCKS DONATION/REFUND REQUESTS FOR GRADUATING STUDENTS ONLY ARE DUE BY THURSDAY, MAY 18!
Is your student graduating this year? Are there unused funds in their MySchoolBucks account? If so, please go to the MySchoolBucks Refund Request for Graduating Students Form. You can donate or transfer unused funds or request a refund! All requests MUST be submitted to Tracey Maxson, UHS Cafeteria Services, at tracey.maxson@fcps.org, by Thursday, May 18.
FUNDS REMAINING IN GRADUATING STUDENTS MYSCHOOLBUCKS ACCOUNTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE BEGINNING FRIDAY, MAY 19!
ALL STUDENT FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS FOR GRADUATING SENIORS MUST BE SATISFIED BY FRIDAY, MAY 19. Financial obligations may include lost, damaged or unreturned items (textbooks, locks), unpaid testing fees, club dues, lost or damaged sports equipment and/or uniforms, lost or damaged technology, etc. Student financial obligations are posted on SchoolCashOnline and must be paid via credit card on the SCO site. Please check your SchoolCashOnline account to see if your student has any outstanding financial obligations. YEARBOOK DISTRIBUTION IS NEXT WEEK!
The 2022-2023 yearbooks are IN! Hold onto all of the best memories of the school year, captured in one vibrant, colorful book. We can't wait for you to see it.
Yearbooks will be distributed in the cafeteria during all lunch shifts beginning Monday, May 15.
Monday, May 15- Seniors only
Tuesday, May 16 - Juniors and Seniors only
Wednesday, May 17 - All grades
Thursday, May 18 - All grades
Won't be in the building during lunch? Then pick up your yearbook from Ms. Johnson in room C217 before 7:30 AM or after 2:15 PM during the week of May 15.
Haven't purchased a yearbook yet? See Ms. Johnson in room C217 before 7:30 AM, during lunch, or after 2:15 PM. Yearbooks can be purchased for $80 in cash or with a check made out to "Urbana High School" (while supplies last).
Not sure if you purchased a yearbook? Go to www.yearbookordercenter.com and enter the school code 14044. Select "Find Your Order" and enter your email to search.

SPRING MCAP TESTING SCHEDULE - Monday, May 15 - Thursday, May 18
Government HSA: Students currently enrolled in Government/Government Honors will test on May 15, 16
MISA: Students currently enrolled in Biology/Biology Honors will test on May 17, 18
Students will need earbuds for some of the assessments. Wireless or Bluetooth headphones are not permitted due to test security. If your student has their own earbuds (not Wireless or Bluetooth) they are encouraged to bring them for the assessment. Headphones will be provided for students who do not have appropriate headphones.
Students are encouraged to get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, arrive to school on time, and to read each question and answer carefully before responding.

CLOCK YOUR STEPS - May 1 – May 31 - Students and staff will clock their mileage/steps throughout the month. The top three winners will receive an award and prize.
MENTAL HEALTH TRIVIA - May 15, 17, 22, 24, 31 (Mondays & Wednesdays) - Mental Health Trivia questions will be shared each Monday and Wednesday on Schoology pages. The first two student respondents will win a prize!
UHS GOES GREEN - May 15, 22 (Mondays) - Students and staff will wear green to show support for bringing awareness to Mental Health.
SELF-CARE SELFIES - May 16, 23, 30 (Tuesdays) - Each Tuesday, students and staff will be encouraged to submit "self-care selfies" to Ms. Stohlman at erin.stohlman@fcps.org to be posted on Twitter.
STOMP OUT STIGMA - May 19, 26 (Fridays) - Students and staff will wear tennis shoes every Friday to show their support for stomping out mental health stigma.
EXPRESS YOURSELF ACTIVITY - (Daily) - Ms. Schiminger has assigned her NAHS students to complete Mental Health artwork that will be displayed in the F wing hallway for the month of May. Students and staff are encouraged to take some time and look at the art work during the month. Students and staff can vote for their favorite three pieces of artwork and submit their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices to Ms. Stohlman at erin.stohlman@fcps.org.

Senior News/Graduation Information
PLEASE OPEN THE Class of 2023 Information Packet TO SEE EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT GRADUATION PRACTICES, THE GRADUATION CEREMONY, SALUTE TO SENIORS PROGRAM AND OTHER GRADUATION-RELATED ACTIVITIES!
CLASS OF 2023 CAP & GOWN ORDERS
All seniors participating in graduation MUST have a cap, gown, and 2023 tassel. Please go to the Cap, Tassel, and Gown Order Link if you still need to purchase a cap, gown or tassel. Due to the change in design last year, seniors may only use caps and gowns from former graduates of the Class of 2022. If you are interested in purchasing additional graduation products, please go to Jostens Graduation Products Link.
Honor stoles/cords will be provided toward the end of the school year by the advisors of the various honor societies.
THE SENIOR SURVEY is administered each year by the State of Maryland and FCPS. Its goal is to allow students to confidentially assess the quality of their education and counseling services as well as to provide direct feedback. The survey is required to be completed by all seniors as part of their pre-graduation tasks.
To access the survey, please sign into Naviance and navigate to the "About Me" tab at the top of the screen. You will then select "Surveys from your School" and then "Senior Survey 2023 New". It should take roughly 10-15 minutes to complete.

Summer Camps at UHS (non-sports)
UHS CRYPTOHAWKS ROBOTICS CAMP
The Urbana High School Robotics team, the CryptoHawks, will be hosting a robotics summer camp from July 31 - August 3, at Urbana High School.
FOR STUDENTS ENTERING GRADES 4-6 - A LEGO Camp will be held from 9 AM - 12 PM for students entering grades 4-6. Students will build various LEGO robots to compete in competitions and they will learn basic programming and simple machines along the way. Each day, students will build and bring home STEM LEGO sets that have been designed by the CryptoHawks team.
FOR STUDENTS ENTERING GRADES 7-9 - An ARDUINO Camp will be held from 1-4 PM for students going into grades 7-9. Students will build and program their own Arduino robot that they will bring home at the end of the week. Students will learn more advanced programming and electrical concepts.

Athletics Information & Sports Camps at UHS
UHS GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL INTEREST FORM / MEETING NOTICE
ATTENTION LADY HAWKS: Urbana High School is excited to carry on the High School Girls Flag Football tradition we started at the “U” in the Fall of 2022. Hopefully everyone saw the FCPS/Ravens announcement (https://fcps.ezcommunicator.net/edu/frederick/upload/0/18953.1.23_final.pdf ) supporting a full pilot league across all 10 high schools in Frederick County in Fall 2023.
As we prepare for participation in this league, we would like to collect some preliminary interest levels and additional details so we can support this new Varsity sport appropriately. Please complete the UHS Girls Flag Football Interest Form by Wednesday, May 17. This is for any interested UHS female athlete who will be in grades 9-12 in the Fall of 2023.
In addition to collecting these interest forms, on Thursday, May 18, at 7 PM, in the UHS Stadium, we will be having a meeting for those athletes and parents interested in learning more about the plans for next season. We hope to see as many of you there as possible!

13TH ANNUAL FIELD HOCKEY SUMMER LEAGUE
URC is sponsoring their “13th Annual Field Hockey Summer League” at Urbana High School’s Stadium Turf Field for five weeks this summer (every Tuesday and Thursday) beginning Tuesday, May 30 through Thursday, July 13.
