Virtual School Summer Session (VSS)
Click here for registration information. To access the correct registration packet: See “High School Students” or “8th Grade Students” (based on your current level).
Submit your registration packet to your counselor either in person or via email by 3pm on Monday, June 6. Be aware that enrollment is limited and many course sections fill up quickly. Submissions are processed on a first come, first served basis.
Medication Pick Up
According to FCPS Regulation 400-23 students are not permitted to take their medications home at the end of the school year. A parent/guardian must pick up all medications in the health room by the end of the school day on June 7. To arrange for pick-up please contact School Health staff directly at (240) 236-7614.
Non-emergency medication and expired medication of any kind remaining in the health room will be destroyed on: June 7, 2022 at the end of the school day unless alternate arrangements have been made directly with School Health staff.
If your student will be attending a summer program at their current school of enrollment and if medication must be administered during summer school hours, contact the health room for additional guidance.
Medication/Treatment Orders for 2022-23 School Year
The medication/treatment authorization form(s) specific to your child's health/medication needs must be renewed at the beginning of each school year. Forms are available online at http://www.fcps.org or at your child's school. Completed forms are due to the health room on or after Thursday, August 11, 2022

Student Services News
Rising seniors applying to college, make sure to take the following steps heading into your summer:
1) Sign up for any Fall 2022 SAT/ACTs at the following websites:
SAT: www.collegeboard.org and ACT: www.act.org
2) Ask any teachers for letters of recommendation BEFORE summer vacation starts. NOTE: You cannot request them in Naviance until August 10th; however, you can ask the teachers now so that they can write the physical letter over the summer. Our recommendation is two letters of recommendation for schools that require them.
3) Complete the senior brag sheet by June 15 in Naviance by clicking "About Me" on your home screen, then going to "Surveys Shared With You" and clicking on "Senior Brag Sheet."
4) Make your official list of colleges by August 15. We recommend creating a spreadsheet with the following information: college name, application due date, application platform, average SAT score, average GPA.
VOLUNTEER HOURS DUE
Students who have completed volunteer hours during the second semester should turn in all forms to Mrs. DeWaal by Thursday, June 30.
STUDENT WORK OPPORTUNITIES
Mrs. DeWaal will continue to post job postings, internship and volunteer opportunities throughout the summer in Schoology.
Students interested in enrolling in work-study, internships or being an SSL next year can find enrollment forms on Schoology.
Please contact Mrs. DeWaal with any questions.
