TIMBERWOLVES ATTENDANCE RATE: Attendance was down for the month of November at 95.67%. Let’s try to get that number back up before winter break !
COUNSELOR’S CORNER: Thanks to all the students, parents and staff who gave so many generous food donations for our Thanksgiving bags. Our PTA and YMCA helpers were able to assemble 22 special bags. Many families in our school were very appreciative of your generosity and efforts. Special thanks to our PTA and Rachel Sanger for organizing this great project. Our children learn so much by participating in all types of service projects. Information will be coming home soon about the PTA "Giving Tree.” We should all be proud to be part of such a giving and caring community.

PACK PRIDE BY Maddy C., Ms. Waskey’s 3rd Grade Class “Playaways” My favorite part of the Media Center is the PLAYAWAYS. PLAYAWAYS are recorded books that you listen to while you read. I really like that there are sound effects to go with the story. It can also help you read books that you want to read, but are too hard for you to read by yourself. There are many different genres. My favorite PLAYAWAY is Encyclopedia Brown. You have to have a permission slip signed by a guardian to check out a PLAYAWAY. You ask Mrs. D for a permission slip and bring it back. The permission slip is good for the whole year. I hope you try listening and reading a PLAYAWAY.
FROM THE MEDIA CENTER: AXIS 360 provides an ebook library to FCPS students. Spend your holiday with a great ebook. Visit the TUES Library Media Center website at http://education.fcps.org/tues/mediacenter to access digital books available to every student! To take advantage of the digital ebooks and audiobooks, first download the free Blio and Acoustik apps to your Apple or Android device. Then, visit the media center website and click on the "Magic Wall" on the right-hand side of the page to begin exploring available books. To check out digital books, the "Magic Wall" will ask for your student ID number and PIN. The PIN is the last four numbers of the student ID number. Questions? Ask your student or email Mrs. D at jean.dalinsky@fcps.org.
