Kid Talks & Conferences
With the end of the first term behind us, TuES staff has started our Kid Talk process. This is a time when we talk about every student and their progress towards meeting or exceeding grade level standards. In a conference room, your child’s teachers, specialists and administration meet to review progress, celebrate accomplishments and discuss any needed supports that might be necessary. The foundation for this is communication; and you can be a part of this during conferences. Make sure you share your insights and information that staff might need to know to help your child learn. As a parent, listen closely to what the teacher shares about your child’s progress. Teachers can be a wonderful reporter as to who your child is when a parent isn’t with them. As always, if administration can answer any questions or offer support, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Yours in education,
Steve Raff
TuES Attendance
TuES daily attendance is maintaining our daily goal of 96%. In October, attendance was 96.23%. Way to go Timberwolves! Congratulations to all those students who are at school, every day, ready to work, and helping TuES meet our goal of 96%. An extra recess will be rewarded when TuES attendance is at 97% or greater 10 times. Students already got the award for the first 10 days; now we’re working on round 2. So far, we’ve earned 3 with 7 to go!
Pack Pride From Ms. Cavazos’ 4th Grade
“King Ball 20” by Laney Barton … King Ball 20 is the newest game in P.E. with our new awesome P.E. teachers, Mr. Mathis and Mr. Hahn. King Ball 20 is a game played by 2nd-5th graders and is very similar to King Ball. King Ball 20 is played with 5 balls in each of 4 squares. With the 5 balls, you have to try to get as many balls as you can in your square. King Ball is played a little more different, you use one football and you can’t throw it. King Ball and King Ball 20 are both games we all love!
“Watch D.O.G.S.” by Emma Lucey … Watch DOGS are awesome because they come in your class and sit down and do the best they can to help you learn, even keeping kind people kind. All the kids will come and be kind. That’s the reason we have Watch DOGS every week. I love having a Watch DOG. I wish that was my Dad! And you should be a Watch DOG too.
