Keeping You Informed--School News
Titan Free Store CALL FOR DONATIONS: Welcome to the Titan Free Store!
In an effort to provide for ALL of our students, THS and the Local Love Project have opened the Titan Free Store!
We carry everything that ANY of our students and their families might need: all sorts of clothing from prom dresses to workout gear to winter coats and hoodies, personal hygiene items, backpacks, school supplies, and so many other fun things! We are in the process of building up a pantry of canned and non-perishable goods, and will soon offer fresh fruits and vegetables (with new lunch block next semester).
We are stocked pretty well, but are looking for a few things we still need to offer to so many students. The following new or very gently used items are needed: Winter coats and boots, sporting equipment, musical instruments, men’s and ladies’ belts and shoes, and ties. We are also accepting canned foods and other non-perishable items.
We are so appreciative of our supportive administration, Local Love Project students, and we especially thank the THS PTSA for their continued support!
Any questions? Please contact Meredith Nickles at Meredith.nickles@fcps.org.
Foundations of Tech The Foundations of Technology students in my class have created wooden puzzle cubes to be donated to the preschool child development class. They had to create a marketing video to pitch their product to "vintage lumber", the company that was supplying scrap wood for this project.
Please take a look at the 5 finalist submissions below and vote on the best one! There is a mixture of websites and promotional videos!
The winner gets a 3D printed model of their puzzle cube! https://goo.gl/4AF2Uw

Student of the week Aaron Tenga 10th grade
Nominated by Mr. Jensen
"Aaron is always prepared for class. He always has a great attitude and is eager to participate. He asks great questions and is a wonderful student to have in class." Blood Drive Thanks to everyone who donated time, blood, and students to today's drive. While the number of donors was uncharacteristically small this year, we still managed to collect 21 units which will help a lot of people!!! The ARC team was very appreciative and so am I. Thanks, again! Way to Go! Intern Recognition! Kudos to THS's own Charlotte Brittain, a senior who serves as a student intern with the FCPS Operations Department. Charlotte has overseen the production, filming, and editing of multiple marketing and training projects all on her own for FCPS Operations. She has done amazing work that has even received the Association of School Business Officials International Certificate of Excellence Award!
See examples of her work at https://youtu.be/KL1dPjphkUE and https://sites.google.com/fcps.org/maintenance-operations/on-boarding . National FFA We are so excited for the student who are attending the National FFA Convention. We wish you the best of luck at the Future Farmers of America convention in St. Louis: Congratulations to: Claudia Dixon Zoe Baskerville Julia Biser
