From Mr. Berry's Desk
Term 1 is in the books, and report cards will be home shortly. As I remarked to students this week in a TV announcement, the slate is clean and it’s time to set goals for Term 2. When you take a look at your child’s final grades, either in HAC or when they receive the report card, take the time to not only applaud their hard work and question how they might have done better. But perhaps more importantly, talk with them about the goals that they are setting for the coming term. In an exercise late last week during our Flex period, the guidance staff led all students through an exercise where they set an academic or personal goal for the term. Talk with your child about what that goal is, and how it connects to their long-term goal. You might be surprised where the conversation leads.
Next week is Thanksgiving, as we will not publish a Weekly Newsletter. I hope that everyone in our community enjoys time with family and those whom you care about most. Among the many things I am thankful for is the opportunity to serve the Tuscarora High School community as your principal. It is energizing to me to work with this group of students, staff and parents, recognizing that there is certainly work to be done, but so many positive aspects to our school. Happy Thanksgiving!
Christopher Berry Principal
