Message From The Principal's Desk
Dear Titan Families,
Before we get to the new semester and new courses, one more important week remains in this current one. Please take this opportunity to check Schoology and finish the semester strong - stretch for that next letter grade and make sure that all assignments are completed and submitted.
I hope that parents and students took the time to watch the video created by FCPS and local law enforcement officials regarding social media threats and the responsibility that all of us have regarding social media in the school setting. The video is five short minutes, but I believe it covered a number of good topics, including what constitutes a social media threat, how FCPS and law enforcement respond to these threats, how students can assist in these instances, and tips for parents regarding social media, in general. If you missed the video, please access it here.
This is a reminder that school will be closed next Friday, January 14 for students, as we complete Semester 1. In addition schools will also be closed the following Monday, January 17, in commemoration of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King federal holiday. The Titan Weekly will be published as usual next Friday.
With Titan Pride,
Christopher Berry
Principal

Titan Athletics
Winter Sports have resumed! After a tough lead up to winter break, all of our athletic teams are back in full swing. Girls Basketball takes on North Hagerstown in a Spires Division battle Friday at home, while the boys tried to improve their 4-1 record on Thursday night in Hagerstown. Then next week, both teams take on TJ and Linganore. Come on out and support both teams! Boys and Girls Swimming and Diving and Unified Bocce all hosted Urbana on Wednesday, and look to build on that as they prepare for TJ next week. After a fantastic showing over break at the FSK Holiday tournament, wrestling traveled to TJ on Wednesday and is also on its way to Hagerstown for the Hub Cup this weekend. They hope to match last week performances where Cooper Cammarata won his weight class. Boys and Girls Track competed several times leading up to the break and look forward to a JV meet on Friday and the Dwight Scott Invitational on Saturday, both at HCC. Finally, both of our Cheer teams are sharpening their skills and rooting on our teams at home events, and are getting ready for upcoming FCPS Championships!
