Message From The Principal's Desk
Dear Titan Families,
This was a busy week as we move toward the midterm deadline next week. Just a reminder that we will dismiss students two hours early on Thursday of next week so that teacher may prepare interim progress reports. On Friday, students will be dismissed 3.5 hours early so that students have the ability to attend the Great Frederick Fair. On this day, only Block 1 and Block 2 classes will meet, with lunch being served very early beginning at 9:00am. Most teachers are planning to do review or enrichment since all four classes will NOT meet.
Unfortunately I need to report that Tuscarora's student restrooms experienced needless vandalism this past week as part of an ongoing TikTok "challenge" on social media. Soap and hand sanitizer dispenser were removed necessitating the closing of bathrooms until the situation could be remedied. These acts are senseless, and only serve to inconvenience students who wish to use the bathroom, in addition to wasting money. I would encourage any student who have information that they believe might help us prevent these acts to speak with an administrator. The bathrooms are part of our beautiful school building, one that most Titans take great pride with maintaining and enhancing.
Today was National Constitution Day, marking the 234th anniversary of the signing of the most influential document in American History. On September 17th, the document was signed and sent to the states for ratification. The Constitution is an amazing flexible document that still serves as the blueprint for limited governments around the globe. We celebrated this event today with a special announcement and activities in many social studies classes. I reminded students that democracy thrives when we choose to be informed and participate in our role as citizens, including voting today for class officers.
With Titan Pride,
Christopher Berry
Principal

Frederick County Public Schools will be requiring all students and staff to wear face coverings inside our schools for the start of the 2021-22 school year. There will be no requirement to wear face coverings outdoors; however, it is strongly recommended particularly for those who are unvaccinated. The requirement to wear face coverings on school buses continues to be in effect. More detailed information about this requirement is provided in The Superintendent's Update, found at this weblink: FCPS Face Covering Details.
