Message From The Principal's Desk
Dear Tuscarora Families,
It was an energetic week as we welcomed 130 new hybrid students to the building. While nothing about the past year has felt normal, as we begin to see new and familiar faces in the halls, life at Tuscarora has begun include more of what we all desire - connection, focus, and socially a "place to be." Seniors are making their final decisions about college and life beyond high school, and we've begun to plan end of the year culminating celebrations. The spring will bring new life to the Titan Community.
Along those line, in case you did not read the entire message from FCPS, details have been released regarding county Graduation Ceremonies in early June. The full schedule and more information is posted online. We look forward to creating a meaningful ceremony for the Class of 2021, one that includes remarks from Dr. Alban, members of the class, musical presentations and the conferring of diplomas. While each family will only receive two tickets for the stadium event, the entire ceremony will be professionally livestreamed and available to all family and friends. Stay tuned for more details.
This week marked the end of "Fall" sports seasons and some exciting playoff style competitions for several of our teams. Once again, having spectators cheer, and students compete strongly made for an exiting week. We'll finish our athletic seasons with the beginning of spring sports tomorrow and Monday. See the Athletic section below for details.
With Titan Pride,
Christopher Berry, Principal

Titan Athletics
Titan Athletes! Are You Ready For SPRING SPORTS
Baseball, Softball, Lacrosse, Tennis, Track & Field and Unified Track
Spring Sports registration is OPEN and Tryouts begin either Sat 4/17 or Mon 4/19, depending on the sport. We will put info out on Twitter (@THSTitans) and eventually through a FindOut First message. Athletes that registered for Spring Return to Play activities (in late Sept./early Oct.) do NOT need to register again. If an athlete has participated in a sport this year (RTP or in-season), we have their physical and COVID form on file at the school. Otherwise, we will need registration, a physical, and a COVID liability form, all found at www.tuscarorahighschool.rschoolteams.com or at www.fcps.org/athletics.
In order to provide the safest environment for all to enjoy the athletic contests, face coverings must be properly worn (fully cover mouth and nose) and social distancing must be practiced at all times when on school grounds, inside and outside, and at all competitions held off FCPS campuses.
Admittance to athletic events will begin 30 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time, once all teams have been checked in. You can only attend events if you are on the will call guest list. Contact coaches as games approach (May 7) to get on those lists. Outside food and beverages are prohibited, and concession sales will not be available. Schools will continue to live stream as several (not all) spring athletic contests when possible on YouTube - search THSAthleticsFCPS, or THSAthleticsFCPS2 for one of our channels.
Fall Sports... It's a Wrap!
Our "fall" season has just about come to a close with only the FCPS XC Championships left (Saturday 4/17 @TJ). Good luck to our Titan runners! Soccer, Volleyball and Field Hockey ended with a bang on Thursday. Volleyball ended their season with an incredibly exciting 5 set comeback win to end the season 9-1. They also held a ceremony for the new ALL-TIME KILLS LEADER, Julia Slivka, in which the golden ball was passed to her from the previous kills leader, Maddi Roat (Titan class of ’16). This week we also saw Field Hockey celebrate their seniors with a 3-0 win over TJ, and the Boys Soccer team won a huge semifinal game against TJ (also 3-0) to advance to the FCPS Boys soccer championship. Unfortunately, their season ended in heartbreaking fashion as they tied Middletown, but lost in Penalty Kicks, ending the season 7-2-1.
Finally, your Titan Girls Soccer team are FCPS COUNTY SOCCER CHAMPIONS, after a convincing 4-0 win over 2nd place Brunswick. Congratulations, ladies on a fantastic season!
