Staying SHARP Till The End Matters!
Between June 6th and June 18th
If a student gets an office referral for any reason, the consequence will be
linked to participation in this years Luau.
Any student that progresses through all the steps on our common consequences form

Please encourage your child to

NMMS has a new line of communication for Attendance!
Parents and guardians now have the option to email NMMS.attendance@fcps.org for all absences including sick days, early dismissal and late arrivals, as well as vacation notes.
Paper attendance notes are still accepted! Students can hand in excuse notes to Ms. Barclay in the front office.
As a reminder: For early dismissals, we ask that you send in a note or email first thing in the morning. Students will then receive a pass during their lunch shift to show teachers at the appropriate time to come down to the office on their own. This is in an effort to cut down on classroom disruptions.
Please contact us with any attendance questions. Thank you!

You May be Eligible to Receive up to $500 for College Savings through the Save4College State Contribution Program. Apply Today!
Did you know that research shows if parents create an account earmarked for their children’s education, the children are more likely to attain college degrees1?
The State of Maryland and Maryland 529 are teaming up to help make it easier for your child’s dream of attending college to come true with the Save4College State Contribution Program2. Simply open an account in the Maryland Senator Edward J. Kasemeyer College Investment Plan (also referred to as the Maryland College Investment Plan or MCIP) managed by T. Rowe Price, complete the online application, and you could be eligible for a $250 or $500 contribution from the State of Maryland. You can also apply if you already have an MCIP Account opened after December 31, 2016. Your college savings can be applied to tuition and other eligible expenses at virtually any U.S. college, technical or trade school—and even international universities that have a federal school code.
It’s easy to apply with the online application. Visit Maryland529.com/Save4College to get started and see if you are eligible for the State contribution. Please note that, while the application can be initiated online, some of the required forms may need to be mailed. All application materials must be submitted by 11:59pm on May 31, 2019.

1Economics of Education Review, October 2015, “The effects of a dedicated education savings account on children’s college graduation,” J. Name & D. Ansong.
2State contributions are not guaranteed. The State funding for contributions is limited to $3,000,000 in fiscal year 2019 and each fiscal year thereafter. As with the entire State budget, the Maryland General Assembly has final approval. If resources are insufficient to fully fund all eligible Accounts, Maryland 529 shall provide contributions in the order in which applications are received in good order and give priority to applications of Account Holders who did not receive a State contribution in any prior year. If you receive a State contribution for any Account in a given year, you are not eligible in that year for the income deduction on your State taxes for contributions that you made to that or any other MCIP Account. You should check with your tax advisor regarding your specific situation.
Please read the entire Enrollment Kit carefully before deciding to enroll. The Maryland Senator Edward J. Kasemeyer College Investment Plan’s Disclosure Statement provides investment objectives, risks, expenses and costs, Fees, and other information you should consider carefully before investing. If you or your beneficiary live outside of Maryland, you should compare Maryland 529 to any college savings program offered by your home state or your beneficiary’s home state, which may offer state tax or other state benefits such as financial aid, scholarship funds, and protection from creditors that are only available for investments in such state’s 529 plan.
