When: Tuesday, November 12, from 7-9 PM
Where: The Jack B. Kussmaul Theater at Frederick Community College.

Mathcounts will meet November 7th and November 21st from 3-4 pm in Mrs. Yox’s room (54).
Leo Club will meet November 14th from 3-4 in the Media Center.
Does your child need to ride a friend’s bus home?
Does your child need to get off their own bus at a different bus stop?
Per the FCPS Calendar Handbook:
Students may only ride the school bus to which they are assigned. Inviting friends home via the school bus makes it difficult for schools and bus drivers to account for students and can cause bus capacity problems.
In emergency situations only, school principals may approve a parental request allowing a child to ride another bus. If there is an emergency, a note is required from each student’s parent/guardian explaining why the student needs to ride a different bus. Once approved, an office issued bus pass will be given to the student.
Students may get off their own bus at a different bus stop but a note is required from each student’s parent/guardian giving permission. Once approved, an office issued bus pass will be given to the student.
All parent/guardian notes must be submitted to the front office for approval.
The NMMS Media Center will be hosting a book fair the week of Nov 4 through the 8th. The fair will be open during the school day for students and families to shop. Parents are also able to purchase gift cards for their child or as teacher appreciation presents. More information will be coming in the next few newsletters.
We are looking for a few volunteers to help set up and cover a few shifts throughout the week. Middle school book fairs do not get as hectic as book fairs at an elementary school. All parent volunteers who help are able to get 20% off their purchases. If you are interested, please contact Ms. Dubbs at lori.dubbs@fcps.org
The fifth annual Maryland STEM festival is October 11 to November 10 at Bowie State University. Visit https://marylandstemfestival.org/ for more information.
