News from our Admin Team
Dear Students and Families,
It's hard to believe we are already in February! We are excited to celebrate Black History Month as well as Valentine's Day during this time. During this time of the year, we are also planning for our 2023-2024 school year. Crazy, right? Pre-K registration for the 2023-2024 school year has not been released yet, but we will send a One Call when it does. If your child attends Spring Ridge out of district, please make sure you read that information below carefully. We will be having some fun events at SRES the second half of the year. A PBIS kindness night, a math event and a literacy night. Stay tuned for those dates!
Please do not forget if your child is sent home from school with a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea they should not return until 24 hours AFTER those symptoms stop. We are seeing an uptick in Covid, flu and the stomach flu. Our custodial crew is taking extra care in cleaning classrooms and our building.
We would like to congratulate Debbie Shaw for being nominated as our Support Staff Employee of Year for Spring Ridge. We are so lucky to have Debbie as our community liaison and a support for our school and community. Thank you to ALL of the support staff at Spring Ridge! Be on the lookout for our nomination for teacher of the year soon!
Our first Classroom Parties of the year will be held on Tuesday, 2/14/23 - Valentine's Day. Here is the schedule of parties:
Pre-K: 2:15-3:15
Kindergarten: 1:00-2:00
Grade 1: 12:15-1:15
Grade 2: 2:00-3:00
Grade 3: 1:15-2:15
Grade 4: 2:30-3:30
Grade 5: 2:30-3:30
Reminder: all volunteers must complete the Volunteer Training at FCPS Volunteer Center. Please see volunteer information in Community News.
If you are attending Spring Ridge out of district, please make sure you fill out the forms below by March 1st. Please read the regulation carefully.
(For Pre-K contact 240-236-8835)

Thank you so much for respecting that students need to be picked up by 3:30 and that our office is closed from 3:30-4:15 for dismissal. It really makes our dismissal procedures run more smoothly.
Any change in your child's dismissal, including if someone else is picking your child up as a car rider who is not on the emergency card, MUST be shared in writing to our front office by 3:00 P.M. each day. You can email Laura.Mendez@fcps.org and Robin.Fasnacht@fcps.org

Eating lunch with your child: You are welcome, on occasion, to come eat lunch with your child. We ask that if someone other than a parent, who is not on the emergency card, comes to eat lunch that you notify us in writing that you are giving permission for them to come. If that person is NOT on the emergency card and we can not contact you, they may be denied entry.
