May 2, 2019
Hello Falcons,
I have recently talked to the wonderful staff and our children about continuing to have fun but also ensuring that we finish strong! This means student’s attendance matters! We have much to teach in this 4th quarter of schooling! We want to ensure that with the long summer ahead that we are taking advantage of our moments with students to continue their reading, mathematics, science, social studies and social growth. School does not stop after field day contrary to some of our student’s opinions. We are working to change that! We continue to strive to acquire new skills in this quarter that set children up for solid success for next year. Our Falcon Awards will occur on the last day of school so that we can ensure students get every moment to achieve more!
There are lots of fun things happening as well! Students in the primary grades have been visiting my Principal’s chalkboard wall for great effort, and showing they are “Freddy Ready.” Students in grades 3,4,and 5 are receiving Falcon heads for their effort in PARCC testing as well. All students who continue to show the 4 Rs will see us for “slime time” at the end of the quarter where they choose the staff member to slime! I was chosen multiple times for our “pie in the face” so I am sure that slime also awaits me!
Thanks for all your support for Teacher/Staff appreciation week occurring next week. As you already know, our staff is amazing!
Yours in Education,
Mrs. Seiss
Safety Announcements:
Parents, we could use your help with our morning crosswalk. We have families who are stopping right where the cross walk is to let their kids out. This creates an unsafe situation for all. Please park and walk your child to the crosswalk or access our school's car rider line. We respectfully request that you do not use the city street for drop off. Our school resource officer will re-enforce this will those who are creating this unsafe stop.
Also, while we understand the need to move in and out of our parking lot quickly as we move about our busy lives, we would like to remind you that as you are leaving our campus at the Motter Ave. exit during Morning Drop-Off or Afternoon Pick-Up, to please make note of the posted sign "Left hand turns are not permitted during the hours of 8:00-8:30 and 2:45-3:15". This helps keep our students safe and traffic safely moving. Our school resource officer will be stopping by to see if there is anything we can do to improve our practices.
Thank you,
Looking Ahead
