Falcon Families,
Congratulations to our Carson Scholar for 2019-Valerie Turcios-Quinteros! Valerie will receive one of the 505 scholarships that have been awarded to exceptional students across the nation. Valerie has been recognized for being exceptional not only academically but in her community.
Carson scholars are individuals in grades 4-11 who display outstanding academic achievement and humanitarian qualities. We are excited and honored to have a scholar from North Frederick as Valerie is only one of two chosen in elementary from Frederick County Public Schools this year. Way to go!
Did you know we celebrated STAR Falcons last Friday? I pulled student's from all classes in the school to receive certificates or coupons for good behavior and great academics. Ask your child if they have received a STAR Falcon this year! Limousine ride winners with exceptional attendance were also chosen for Term 3 and these students will take their trip to McDonald's this week! There is still one more time for these celebrations this school year!
Safety Announcements:
Parents, we could use your help with our morning crosswalk. We have families who are stopping right where the cross walk is to let their kids out. This creates an unsafe situation for all. Please park and walk your child to the crosswalk or access our school's car rider line. We respectfully request that you do not use the city street for drop off. Our school resource officer will re-enforce this will those who are creating this unsafe stop.
Also, while we understand the need to move in and out of our parking lot quickly as we move about our busy lives, we would like to remind you that as you are leaving our campus at the Motter Ave. exit during Morning Drop-Off or Afternoon Pick-Up, to please make note of the posted sign "Left hand turns are not permitted during the hours of 8:00-8:30 and 2:45-3:15". This helps keep our students safe and traffic safely moving. Our school resource officer will be stopping by to see if there is anything we can do to improve our practices.
Thank you,
Mrs. Seiss

You are your child’s first teacher, and they learn best from you. Whether the topic is a loss in the family or fear of the internet, you can help your child build resiliency even in the face of distressing news.
