Dear Falcon Families,
As we take a break for the school year we hope you are safe and well. In this time of social unrest please know that our school is committed to speaking out against statements and actions that diminish the value of others. We value equity and strive to be models of this value for our school community. Thank you for your support!
Our office is still closed, but please call us so that we can support you by appointment. We have heard from families who need a time to pick up student belongings or enrollment documentation. Please know we are here to help. We will continue to follow state and local guidelines as well as monitor all FCPS communications.
As FCPS makes decisions for fall we will continue to communicate regularly this summer through Find Out First and OneCallNow. We wish you a wonderful and safe summer and look forward to when we can be together again.
Mrs. Seiss
Today is the FCPS Reflection Day for students!
NFES wants to hear from its students on their experience with distance learning.
For today, please have your child complete the NFES’s reflection activity on distance learning.
To access the reflection activity, go to: SURVEY
This link is unique to NFES. Please do not share with families and students in other FCPS schools.
In addition, please note that this reflection activity is for FCPS students in Grades 3-12 only.
Students in PreK-Grade 2 are completing a separate reflection activity that is led by their teacher.
Please keep in mind that this survey is intended to be from the student’s perspective, but provide support to them as needed.
Parents will be learning about an opportunity to provide feedback from your perspective in the next few days.
Thank you for your commitment to supporting FCPS!
The North Frederick Staff would like to say THANK YOU to all of our volunteers and PTA Members for all they have done to help our teachers, our students and our school this year.
We appreciate your time, your willingness to help us, and
the kindness you shared with all of us.
Have a great summer!
Happy Birthday to all staff and students
who celebrate their birthday in June!

Hello 3rd/4th Grade Students and Families,
Students who will be entering 4th and 5th grade next school year have the opportunity to learn a band or orchestra instrument of their choosing.
Since the instrumental music teachers are not able to present their normal recruitment show to the students in person, we have created a website for students to view.
This website provides information on what instruments are offered, videos to gain more information about each instrument,
information about the band/orchestra program, and an enrollment form for students who are interested.
Mr. Boehmer and Mr. Racster would love for all current 3rd and 4th grade students to play an instrument next school year.
Even if you do not have any experience playing an instrument, we will start from the beginning and teach you exactly what to do.
Did you play an instrument with us last year? We would love for you to enroll again for this coming year!
Please take some time to view the website and contact us with any questions.
We look forward to seeing everyone in band or orchestra lessons next school year!

Please find several helpful tips to share with your child below. Remember, proactive conversations with your child about their safety and your own modeling of these healthy habits is key to a safe and healthy summer everyone will enjoy!

Social Worker Suite!!! NEWSLETTER
June 9, 2020
The Covid19 impact on our schools and communities is rapidly changing by the minute, and the way children learn switched from the physically being in the school building to at home or distant learning. So what does this mean, parents had to put on their teacher hats to assist their child/ren in helping to get a chromebook, logging onto Google Classroom or Schoology, clicking on slides, turning in assignments, and learning how to have your child meet up with classmates and teacher in the Virtual Classroom. Wow! Well done!!! Thank you!!!
As we continue our preparations for the health-related school closings and looking towards enjoying the summer, attending one of our summer programs and returning to school in the fall, please remember you are not alone. If there are needs such as emotional/mental health, food, or other community resources not mentioned please reach out to the front office through the main phone number with your request.

As racism, stigma and inequities continue to permeate every aspect of our society, the overall health and wellbeing of students, families, and communities are significantly impacted by racism. As a school social worker, guided by ethical values of honoring the dignity and worth of every person and the need to challenge social injustices, I am here to offer my support in any way and to share resources to talk with your children about racism and how systemic racism has impacted our world today.
