Hello Falcon Families,
A Friendly Reminder about Arrival and Dismissal Times: Please know that the safest way for your children to exit school property if they are a car rider is through our front car loop. If you have chosen for your child to be a walker A or C at dismissal time you are choosing for them to be escorted to the end of the school property. It is then a parent’s job to help teach their children safe walking paths to home or their safe destination. Our school does our best to support children who are meeting parents, but we are not always able to match each walker to a correct adult personally. Our car rider line is the way to ensure an exact pick up is made safely. If you need help with safe walking paths for your child please consider reaching out to our school resource officer for this advice. Please talk with your child about using crossing guards that are in place, or their safe path. Our staff can not supervise street crossings. Thanks for your help and please let me know if you have questions.
Mrs. Seiss
School closings or delays due to inclement weather can be found in multiple ways- 1) FCPS will send out a Find Out First with the information as early as possible, 2) you can check on www.FCPS.org, 3) TV and local radio stations. We respectfully request that you use these ways to be informed. The school front office is not informed sooner than Find Out First and at times struggles handling the volume of calls with weather questions. Thank you for your help!

Counselor's Corner-
NFES school-wide “Community Service Awareness Project”
We are pleased to inform you that our NFES school-wide “Community Service Awareness Project” is developing into a school culture of volunteerism and an opportunity for leadership. This kindness project has been a successful addition to our school’s citizenship program for the past 5 years and one that we hope your child gets involved. At North Frederick we encourage all students to contribute to and make a difference in our school, community, country and internationally by being life long active participants through community service.
The “Community Service Awareness Project’s” main goal is to teach every child the importance of service, and to build awareness that there are many ways to contribute and ultimately improve our community. Parents/Guardians must provide the necessary guidance outside of school when your child is involved in the community service project you select together. Your child’s safety is most important. We ask that you do not allow your child to solicit door to door or do anything outside of your supervision.
More information about this program can be found in the links below and in next week's Thursday folder. As always, feel free to stop by or call me with questions regarding this program.
