Lancer Lines Linganore High School News April 20, 2018
Guest message from Mr. McWilliams
Our seniors probably agree with author Alice Walker: “Time moves slowly, but passes quickly.” In just over one month, our seniors will attend their last class as Frederick County high school students, with no more exams, dances, concerts, or athletic contests to fill their calendars. What a time of celebration! But as you celebrate, please make safe choices so that nothing hampers this joyous milestone.
Parents of seniors, we hope to see you on Monday, May 7, at 6:30, in the auditorium. The information to be presented is on our website under Quick Links – Senior Class Information and will mirror the information we’ll share with seniors, but we know that many parents appreciate hearing the details first hand.
All students are reminded of the importance of attending school each day and completing each assignment. Doing those two things nearly guarantees academic success and also builds positive habits that will transfer into life after high school.
If you haven’t done so recently, check out the school calendar for information about upcoming events. In the next few weeks, Linganore will host multiple athletic competitions and concerts, an art show, and the musical Footloose. You don’t want to miss the various talents of our students.
"Footloose" The Movie The Drama Club is hosting a free viewing of the 1984 version of “Footloose” this Sunday, April 22 at 2:00 pm in the auditorium. Popcorn will be available for purchase.

Spring Musical "Footloose" Join Linganore's Performing Arts Department April 26-29 as they present Footloose the Musical. Ren and his mother have packed up their life in rockin' Chicago and have just arrived in Bomont, a rural town controlled by the powerful Reverend Shaw Moore. Ren, an active teenager with a passion for moving and dancing, comes face to face with adversity and distrust of the "new city kid" and quickly comes to find out that the Reverend has banned dancing as a sin. Together, with the help of new friends like Willard and Ariel, the pastor's daughter, Ren will take on the town and bring back dancing. Based off the hit 1980s movie starring Kevin Bacon, you won't want to miss this musical, containing beloved songs like "Let's Hear it For the Boy," "Holdin' Out for a Hero," and the toe-tapping favorite "Footloose." Show Dates and Times Thursday, April 26 at 7 pm Friday, April 27 at 7 pm Saturday, April 28 at 2 pm and 7 pm Sunday, April 29 at 2 pm. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door, and $5 for students.
