Lancer Speaker Series On Thursday, March 22, Kerry Hawk Lessard from Native American Lifelines will be our guest speaker as part of our "Lancer Speaker Series". Ms. Lessard will be here to speak to students during PREP about Native American traditions, symbols, culture, and respect. Ms. Lessard will also be showing a video with a question and answer forum during her presentation. Any student interested in attending can sign up in the cafeteria on Monday, March 19, and Tuesday, March 20, during lunch.

Claim Your Lost Items We have acquired many shirts, sweatshirts, jackets and other items in our lost and found bin. Please have your child check for any clothes/items they may be missing. Students will have until Friday, April 6 to pick up any lost items from the front office. All current items remaining after Friday, April 6 will be donated to a local charity.
United Way of Frederick County's Summer Serve Registration Is Open! United Way Summer Serve engages area youth ages 12-17 in volunteer service projects at various nonprofit agencies throughout Frederick County. The program will provide the participants with a comprehensive understanding of the areas of need in our community.
A Leadership Week is available to all participants who have participated in any of the three main Summer Serve sessions. Leadership week gives participants an opportunity to further expand upon their ability to work well with others and learn how they can serve as a catalyst for positive change in our community.

Scholarships Are Available! Applicants whose families' earnings are at or below the Frederick County Survival Budget qualify for full scholarships, and those applicants whose families earn below the Household Stability Budget qualify for partial scholarships.

Seniors The Community Foundation of Frederick County’s 2018-19 scholarship application is open from March 1, 2018 through March 31, 2018. Students who will graduate this May and are planning to attend college or pursue vocational training, or students currently attending college or enrolled in vocational training should apply. Scholarships are available for all areas of study. More details, as well as the blue “Apply for Scholarships” button to access the application can be found at www.ScholarshipsFrederickCounty.com. You will need a PDF of your current transcript for the application. Seniors going to FCC next year The Frederick Community College Foundation has two new scholarship opportunities. The FCC Merit Scholarship is a two-year scholarship awarded to one Linganore graduating senior. The scholarship is valued at up to $8,800 ($2,200 per fall and spring semester for two years). Student must be in good standing (character, conduct, and attendance), have at least a 3.6 unweighted cumulative high school GPA, maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA at FCC to continue the scholarship, and take at least 15 credits each semester.
The Post Dual Enrollment Scholarship is a one-year scholarship awarded to one Linganore graduating senior. The scholarship is valued at up to $4,400 ($2,200 per fall and spring semester for one year). Student must have participated in the dual enrollment program (high school based or open enrollment) through FCC with a 3.0 cumulative GPA in all dual enrollment coursework, be in good standing (character, conduct, and attendance), have at least a 3.6 unweighted cumulative high school GPA, maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA at FCC to continue the scholarship, and take at least 15 credits each semester.
To be considered for either of these scholarships, please write a brief essay (200 words or less) describing your educational and career goals. Submit your typed essay to Mrs. Ingraham in Student Services, by Friday, April 6th at 2:30 pm.
Other FCC Scholarship Opportunities In addition to the two new scholarships outlined above, the Frederick Community College Foundation has scholarships for students with certain interests or circumstances.
The Routzahn Family Business Scholarship offers $250/semester for four semester to a students who declares a major in Business Administration or Accounting. Student must maintain a 2.5 GPA to renew the scholarship each semester. See Ms. Larson by Friday, April 6 at 2:00 pm, if you are interested in being Linganore’s nominee.
The Frederick Singles Scholarship provides scholarship assistance to an incoming Frederick County high school graduate from a single-parent household. Award is based primarily on income of custodial parent. Scholastic achievement will also be considered. See your school counselor for a nomination form by Friday, April 6 if interested in applying for this scholarship.
Juniors Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York offers its premier merit scholarship, the Rensselaer Medal, a scholarship opportunity worth $100,000 for outstanding math and science students.
