News from the Office

From Principal Hanlon:

Dear Lancer Families,

I am glad to share with you the FAQ for LHS Families document with responses to your questions about the hybrid schedule. Please keep in mind that guidance may change, and we will need to update and respond to those changes. I will be sure to keep you informed of any changes. Look for parent town halls, student town halls, and freshmen orientation information to come in January.

I wish you and your family a restful winter break, with a chance to unplug and unwind. May our 2021 be bright and beautiful.

Sincerely,
Cindy Hanlon
Principal

Congratulations Lancer Media!

Congratulations to Mackenzie Berry and the drama department.  Mackenzie produced a podcast about the technical joys and difficulties of producing the fall play.  She won national recognition for her work.  You can read and hear it here.

This is Mackenzie's first Best of SNO  (Student Newspapers Online) award, and we are thrilled that she joins 10 other winners this semester.  Ordinarily, fewer than 10% of submitted stories are chosen, but Lancer Media has a record of one in four (25%) winning this semester.

Keep up the great work!  If you are considering joining our Lancer Media team--we want you.  Please email questions to Mrs. Rebetsky at natalie.rebetsky@fcps.org.  Journalism is open to grades 9 - 12.  All you need is Lancer spirit.  We will teach you the rest.
