Hi! My name is Ms. Kathy Becker. I joined the Lancer Family in 1993 as a Special Education Teacher. Then is 2005, I switched to my current School Counselor position. I work with students who's last names begin with A-C. I am also the counselor that oversees our High School Based Dual Enrollment Program. In addition to my role as counselor, I've been the Faculty Advisor for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club as well as the Sunshine Committee Chairperson, both since 1995. I also coached Girl's Tennis for 19 years. Prior to coming to work for FCPS, I taught in DC for 7 years, Montgomery County for 1 year, and PA for 1 year.
Although I have lived in Maryland for the past 35 years, my roots are found in Pittsburgh, PA. I am a die hard Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates fan who bleeds black and gold! Outside of watching sports, I love to play sports, particularly tennis, softball and volleyball. My other hobbies consist of baking/cooking, crafting/sewing and antiquing. I am very involved at my church and I love spending time with my family in PA and my friends in MD. Lastly, I share my home with my two Shorkie Fur Babies, Tippy and Tilly.
I hope that you all are doing well and I look forward to when we can all be back together again at Linganore High School!
