Lancer Lines Linganore High School News September 18, 2020
From the Principal:
Lancer Families,
Now that we are in the third week of school and are starting to get into the rhythm and routine of the schedule, it is a good time to check in with students on their organization and their self-advocacy in reaching out to teachers for help. A calendar, a planner, a white board, or even some Post It Notes laid out in order of priority on the table: there are many ways to help our students determine which assignments they need to tackle and in which order. Teachers and student counselors are always available to help during their office hours in the afternoons, and via email. For more on the topic, check out our 3rd Key to Virtual Learning, shared by Media Specialist Marsha Thompson. If you have any questions or concerns about how your student is doing in a class, please feel free to reach out to your student’s teachers and counselor as well. We know that our partnership is an important part of our students’ success.
This week our students in Social Studies classes recognized Constitution Day in celebration of this influential historical document. See the video that was created by Ms. Hendi and shared with students about Constitution Day here. Looking ahead to next week, please remember that students do have school on Friday, September 25th, as the Board of Education changed the calendar to reflect that Fair Day is not a day off from school this year. While the printed calendar does not reflect this change, you can see up-to-date calendar information any time by visiting fcps.org and viewing the calendar online.
Have a great weekend.
With Lancer Pride,
Cindy Hanlon
Principal

AP Exams
Parents of AP Students:
"As a student in an AP course, your child will be creating an account in CollegeBoard.org, a third-party online tool that is used to register and practice for AP exams. Creating an account in this system is the only way your child can register for the AP exams. Your child's teacher will be assisting your child in creating this account if they have not already done so for another AP course. You can visit the following address to review College Board's privacy policy, view the data they collect, and see how that data is used: https://about.collegeboard.org/privacy-policy/privacy-statement. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns, or if you would not like your child to participate.”
No unused/cancellation fee for students who decide not to test-for this school year (2020/2021) only
Please click on the following link to access the necessary information and forms about registering for AP Exams. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Raeda Zietoon at 240-566-9719.
