Lancer Lines Linganore High School News September 11, 2020
On September 11, 2001, under clear blue skies, 102 minutes changed the lives of Americans forever. Today marks the 19th anniversary of this fateful day; a day of great sorrow and tremendous loss, but also a day that exemplified the triumph of the human spirit. From this day came stories of incredible sacrifice and heroism as first responders and average citizens rushed to the aid of others. It is in the spirit of this service that by joint resolution of the U.S. Congress on Dec. 18, 2001, September 11 was designated as Patriot Day, a national day of service, that calls Americans across the country to volunteer in their local communities to honor the selfless sacrifice of so many on that day and many days since. For more information about serving on this and other national days of service, please visit nationalservice.gov and the 9/11 Memorial Museum at 911memorial.org. source: Nationalservice.gov, 911memorial.org, Britannica
