Hello LHS, My name is Jessica McDonald and I am so excited to be joining Linganore this year as the Student Services Department Chair and Counselor working with students last names K-Q. I grew up in the Frederick area and graduated from Urbana in 2003. Following High School, I attended Salisbury University where I played basketball for 4 years and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education Mathematics. This is my 14th year with FCPS - I spent 8 years teaching math at Urbana and more recently I served as a counselor at Tuscarora High School.
I currently live in Frederick with my husband, Steve, and our 7-month-old son, Zeke. We also have a (not so) well-behaved cat named Lloyd Christmas--bonus points to any student that knows what movie inspired his name. I love spending time with my family and friends. My happy place is the beach and I love to travel. I cannot wait until we can do so again safely!
While we all face many new obstacles and challenges this year, I am excited to get to know all of my students and support each of you in any way that I can. Please reach out if there is anything that I can help you with Jessica.Mcdonald@fcps.org.
