A few words coming from the Principal’s desk on this warm Friday afternoon. It has been a sunshine filled week with renewed excitement in the air. Our athletic teams have completed week one of competition. We thank our families for their compliance and cooperation following our current protocols and guidelines. It makes everyone’s experience more enjoyable when we are all in this together.
We are well into the second half of term three and continue to encourage our students to remain engaged with their coursework. We know virtual fatigue is a struggle, but we need to keep moving forward. Each week we move closer to returned normalcy and we want our students to be equipped to progress forward in earning graduation credits. Juniors, be reminded this year’s coursework will be important in the college admissions process.
Some exciting news to share! Mr. Quinn Williams, Special Education Teacher has advanced as a Semi-finalist for FCPS Teacher of the Year. We are so thankful for his dedication and daily enthusiasm. He is a role model for his students and serves selflessly in and beyond the classroom. We wish him the best of luck as he advances in the final rounds of selection. He is the winner in our book.
Class of 2021 – Graduation here we come! With the exciting announcement this past week, we are actively planning our face-to-face graduation in our stadium. A video announcement and survey were released this week in CONNECT and via FOF. There are many details to plan and an incredible amount of work to do before the big day. We need your help. Please complete the Senior survey on Schoology, order your cap and gown, and let us know when you will be attending one the mandatory senior meetings on April 21 or 28. We welcome one parent to join you!
Hope everyone has a nice weekend and is enjoying the shift to spring activities outdoors.

We have studied the making of records, 8-track tapes, cassette tapes, dat tapes, cd’s and streaming music. We have even had time to look at VHS tapes vs. Beta. We plan to start with historical decades as we discover more about music from 1900-now.
