Greetings!
Graduation season is upon us! Seniors’ last day will be Monday the 20th and graduation will be at 2pm at Mount St. Mary’s on May 28th. Seniors must attend (and be on time) to all graduation practices if they wish to take part in the ceremony. Please take note of the senior graduation information that is on our webpage. https://education.fcps.org/fhs/node/452
We will be holding our Senior Recognition Ceremony on Thursday May 23rd at 11:30am. We have moved it to a time during the day in hopes that more students will be able to join us. We invite all family members of the Class of 2019 to join us in recognizing the incredible achievements of our senior class.
Finally, while our seniors are leaving us in two days, we still have almost four weeks of coursework left for our Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors. Interims will be released via HAC on Monday the 20th. If you have any questions about grades please do not hesitate to reach out to your student’s teacher.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the school if you have any questions or need any additional information.
Thank You
David Franceschina, Ed.D
Principal, FHS

2019 - 2020 PTSA - The PTSA is seeking new Board members for next year. Being on the board is a GREAT way to be involved with the school and get first hand information! Elections will take place before summer. We are taking nominations for president, treasurer and secretary.
The remaining meetings for this school year are 5/20 and 6/10. (note that the meeting in June is the 2nd Monday which is different than most months) Come see how easy it is to get involved and offer input to insure we have a strong school!
The FHS PTSA is pleased to announce the Dollars For Scholars scholarship for Seniors. The guidance office has made the selections for the recipients. The PTSA is currently requesting donations for this important program. You can see more information on the Frederick High Facebook page and on the FHS website. Checks of any amount are appreciated and may be sent to the school, Attn: PTSA Dollars For Scholars. Students names will be announced during the Senior Awards Ceremony on May 23 along with our sponsors/donors being recognized.
Thank you to all who donated food and financial support for the Staff Appreciation lunch on May 7th.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Successful academic achievement and student attendance are directly correlated. Students are expected to maintain acceptable attendance with absence from school only for lawful reasons. Unlawful absences may result in lowering of grades, ineligibility for extracurricular activities, disciplinary action, and failures.
