The Cadet Robotics team will be competing for the first time in the FIRST Chesapeake tournament at McDonogh High School in Owings Mills, MD. The event is free and open to the public; please join us any time between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm to cheer our robot, Space Cadet, and the amazing team behind it (Alex Plisov, Nicolas and Jaxen Farrell, Bishoy and Morein Ibrahim, Mason Kershner, Zach Chen, Nathan Pan, Alvin Kolani, Miguel Fuentes, and Mrs. Ptak and Mr. Cullings as mentors)!

ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Successful academic achievement and student attendance are directly correlated. Students are expected to maintain acceptable attendance with absence from school only for lawful reasons. Unlawful absences may result in lowering of grades, ineligibility for extracurricular activities, disciplinary action, and failures.

SAFE AND SANE
Safe and Sane is a non alcoholic party hosted by the parents of the Class of 2019 for any and all Seniors. Please help us by registering your student now, registration is now $75.

All Senior parents are invited, participation was a little low in December and January. We are hoping for more parents to join us this month. We will be discussing the Spring Owl's Club Fundraiser and our Silent Auction. We have already received some great gift certificates from restaurants and Colonial Jewelers. We are also hoping to discuss our Spring yard sale! The better our fundraisers the better our prizes can be for our students!

The FHS Indoor Color Guard placed 3rd with a score of 69.42 at the KIDA competition held at Tuscarora last Saturday. The FHS Indoor Guard competed against 7 other schools including Oakdale HS and will compete again this Saturday, March 16th at GTJHS starting at 7:15 PM. Please come out and support your Indoor Guard Team, GO CADETS!
Pre-Adjudication and Jazz Concert - Tuesday, March 19 @ 7PM - The Music Department will present a concert that will feature our Concert and Jazz bands. The Concert band will be performing their pieces for Adjudication which will take place on March 25th at Linganore HS and the Jazz Band will present their concert of various jazz pieces.

SPRING SOCCER - READ ALL ABOUT IT!
FIELD HOCKEY PLAYERS:
Any student athlete interested in participating in field hockey, should plan to attend the spring field hockey clinic. May 14th and May 16th 3:30-6:30 snacks will be provided. The clinic will be held on the FHS Turf. No playing experience is necessary. The clinic is open to West Frederick Middle School students as well. Contact keivette.hammond@fcps.org for the registration form.
Fall Sports Registration Night will be on June 4,2019 in the FHS Auditorium at 6:30 PM.
FHS offers Football, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Unified Tennis, Volleyball, Boys and Girls Soccer, Golf and Cheerleading in the Fall.
